The journey around Nvidia’s 2025 GPUs has been a rollercoaster, with conflicting reports surfacing almost daily—some indicating serious delays and shortages, while others claim imminent confirmations for release. Recently, certain graphics cards have been linked to a forthcoming laptop model.
A recent report from VideoCards unearthed a specification document from HP, showing that the upcoming Victus 15 laptop will feature options for the GeForce RTX 5050 and GeForce RTX 5060 GPUs.
Per the specifications obtained, the HP Victus 15, identified with model number FA2, will run on the Intel Raptor Lake platform. It is also poised for an upgrade to Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU, making it a compelling choice for budget gamers.
VideoCards mentioned that previous HP Victus laptops had included earlier versions of the RTX 50 series, such as the RTX 2050, RTX 3050, and RTX 4050. This establishes a logical transition for the RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 as the next iterations in compatible hardware.
While HP and Nvidia have yet to verify this information, the ongoing reports of a graphics card shortage from Nvidia—especially affecting their lower-end models—have been a topic across the industry. Current predictions suggest that the RTX 5060 GPU could debut in March, yet news about the RTX 5050 remains unclear.
However, it has been hinted that gaming laptops equipped with the RTX 5050 GPU could start taking pre-orders on February 25, with shipments anticipated to kick off in March. The HP Victus 15 stands out as the first laptop explicitly connected to Nvidia’s 50 series GPUs by name.
Furthermore, additional reports indicate that as vendors and retailers begin to unveil laptops featuring the RTX 50 series, collaborations will also happen with other partners, including Intel and AMD. The new models will incorporate components like the Intel Core Ultra 200HX, AMD Fire Range, and AMD Strix Halo.
