The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in January is anticipated to showcase the new Samsung Galaxy S25 series, though it appears the S25 Slim will not be included in this launch. Recent leaks hinted at all four models making a debut; however, new information aligns with the theory that the S25 Slim will instead be released in the second quarter of the year.
To recap, the Galaxy S25 Slim was identified by its model number, SM-S937, an essential marker as it indicates where this model fits within the lineup. The latest One UI 7 beta revealed a list of specific models tailored to various carriers, stating U.S. variants as SM-S931, SM-S936, and SM-S938—corresponding to the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Notably absent is any mention of the S25 Slim.
The lack of a defined model number suggests that the S25 Slim will not be part of the initial launch alongside the other Galaxy S25 models. This reinforces previous leaks supporting this narrative. Samsung’s typical strategy appears to dictate a mid-year release, likely around June, reminiscent of the pattern seen with the Galaxy Ring, which was first announced in January but only became available in June.
It’s reasonable to expect Samsung to implement a similar approach for the Galaxy Ring 2, which may also be revealed during the Galaxy Unpacked event.
If we analyze the model numbers further, it’s clear the S25 Slim positions itself between the S25 Plus and S25 Ultra. Expectations suggest it will be more powerful than the Plus variant, albeit not matching the Ultra’s capabilities. However, there are rumors indicating that it might even be equipped with a superior camera system compared to the base Galaxy S25 models.
While Samsung has not yet officially acknowledged the Galaxy S25 Slim, its introduction seems imminent next month. For now, any details regarding the Slim should be approached with caution until confirmed by the company.
