Karma’s EVs Get Master & Dynamic Audio Upgrade

Karma Automotive is teaming up with Master & Dynamic (M&D), a high-end audio company based in New York City, to integrate their audio expertise into two of Karma’s electric vehicles. This collaboration marks M&D’s first venture into creating an in-cabin sound system, and they will also design exclusive sound accessories for Karma, including wireless headphones.

The electric vehicles set to benefit from this partnership include Karma’s upcoming third-generation Karma Revero, which is anticipated to start deliveries in late 2024, and the luxurious $300,000 Karma Kaveya super-coupe. Existing Karma Revero owners, in the meantime, can take advantage of “Tune,” an innovative over-the-air audio upgrade that enhances the vehicle’s sound experience with M&D’s renowned, rich audio quality.

Karma Automotive’s president, Marques McCammon, expressed that the exceptional craftsmanship of Master & Dynamic was a compelling reason for the collaboration. The Tune audio package for the Karma Revero is touted as the first over-the-air upgrade of its kind in the automotive industry, providing a glimpse of what’s to come.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first attempt at a sophisticated sound system for Karma vehicles. Initially, Karma had collaborated with Sennheiser to develop a 3D sound system for the Revero GT plug-in hybrid, but that partnership did not progress.

Though specifics about the audio system in the Karma Kaveya are sparse, press materials showcase M&D-branded speaker placements throughout the car. Details like the number of speakers, amplification power, or support for immersive audio formats such as Dolby Atmos Music have yet to be revealed.

This partnership is part of a growing trend in the luxury automotive market, where high-end audio brands are intersecting with premium vehicles. Other manufacturers like Lucid, Jeep, and Audi have made similar moves, introducing high-quality in-cabin sound experiences in their models.

Master & Dynamic has a history of creating partnerships with luxury automotive brands, having previously worked with names like Mercedes-AMG, Lamborghini, and Bugatti to develop custom-branded wireless headphones and earbuds.
