The Final Season of The Righteous Gemstones is Coming This Spring
HBO has officially announced that the beloved family of televangelists will return for their fourth and final season, set to premiere on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. This upcoming season will consist of nine episodes, available for viewing on HBO and streaming on Max.
The teaser trailer for season 4 reveals that the Gemstone siblings—Jesse, Kelvin, and Judy—have finally taken charge of the family church while their father, Eli, drowns his sorrows on a boat. As these characters navigate their newfound authority, they are bound to encounter challenges, as wielding power often demands more responsibility and potentially disrupts their lavish way of life. HBO’s summary hints at the family’s struggle to balance their interdependence while moving forward without discarding their complicated history.
The cast for season 4 features familiar faces including Danny McBride as Jesse Gemstone, Adam Devine as Kelvin Gemstone, John Goodman as Eli Gemstone, and Edi Patterson as Judy Gemstone.
Additions to the ensemble cast include Cassidy Freeman as Amber Gemstone, Tim Baltz as BJ, Tony Cavalero as Keefe Chambers, Greg Alan Williams as Martin Imari, Skyler Gisondo as Gideon Gemstone, Walton Goggins as Baby Billy Freeman, Jennifer Nettles as Aimee-Leigh Gemstone, Jody Hill as Levi, and many more, ensuring a rich tapestry of characters to round out the storyline.
Danny McBride, who created and wrote the show, expressed in a recent interview with GQ that the idea to conclude the series came to him quite naturally. “I wrote the pilot for The Righteous Gemstones in 2017, so by the time I finish with the post-production on season 4, I’ll have dedicated almost eight years to this project. It might not feel that way because of the pandemic and other interruptions, but the story just came together in a way that felt complete,” he shared.
