HBO Releases Epic Trailer For Dune: Prophecy Coming In November

The Sisterhood makes their bold move in the thrilling trailer for Dune: Prophecy, an upcoming sci-fi prequel series from HBO based on the renowned Dune universe.

Set 10,000 years prior to the rise of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy features Emily Watson in the role of Valya Harkonnen, who leads the Sisterhood. Olivia Williams portrays Tula Harkonnen, Valya’s sister. Together, these Harkonnen sisters embark on a mission to secure the future of humanity while establishing the influential sect known as the Bene Gesserit.

“Now is the time to secure the throne and protect the Imperium,” Valya declares in the trailer. The footage hints at the grand scale and grandeur of Dune: Prophecy, echoing the magnitude found in the Dune films.

The Creative Team Behind Dune: Prophecy

Joining Watson and Williams, the cast of Dune: Prophecy includes Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Camilla Beeput, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.

Dune: Prophecy draws inspiration from Sisterhood of Dune, a novel authored by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The series further enriches the universe originally crafted by Frank Herbert in his iconic 1965 work, Dune.

Alison Schapker serves as the executive producer and showrunner. Diane Ademu-John was also an executive producer and co-developed the series, but she stepped down from her role as co-showrunner after production commenced. Initially branded as a Max Original, Dune: Prophecy has since been reclassified as an HBO Original, similar to The Penguin.

Set to premiere on Sunday, November 17, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Dune: Prophecy will consist of six episodes, airing on HBO and streaming on Max, with new installments released weekly on Sundays.
