Google employees have been allowed to work from home until July 2021, which is one more year due to Coronavirus. This shows that the IT industry is facing depression due to COVID-19.
Google was expecting to welcome its employees back to their office by the end of 2020 and a few of their offices were also opened for employees.
An email from the CEO Sunder Pichai telling staff;
To provide employees the capacity to plan further, Google is extending the world voluntary work from home option until June 30, 2021, for the positions that don’t need to be in the office.

Currently, there are 123,000 full-time Google employees whereas 122,000 temporary contract and vendor workers.
When the COVID-19 hit the United States in 2020, IT companies were the first ones to opt for work from home and have also canceled big tech events in 2020. Now many companies are thinking of work from home can be done for the long term.
Like, Twitter, Square, and Facebook have told Digital Phablet that some of their workers will do work from home permanently now.
