The classic Fortnite OG mode, which revived the iconic island from Season 1, is set to make a permanent return to the game.
Epic Games shared via a post on X that Fortnite OG is “coming BACK and is here to stay” starting December 6. This means players will have the opportunity to explore the original map and loot reminiscent of Chapter 1, Season 1, originating from 2017, a time when Fortnite hadn’t yet transformed into the cultural phenomenon it is known as today.

While Epic Games has not disclosed further specifics at this time, past Fortnite OG events suggest that this revival may reintroduce a variety of weapons and vehicles. The original event began with Chapter 1, Season 5, which featured items like shopping carts, boogie bombs, and even airplanes, along with updates that brought in elements from later seasons.
The previous iteration of this event lasted roughly a month, but Epic Games later confirmed its interest in bringing it back due to its overwhelming success. During that time, the game saw an impressive influx of players, with over 44.7 million logging in on what became the “biggest day” in Fortnite’s history.
In addition to this new OG content, Fortnite has been tapping into nostalgia through its latest Chapter 2 Remix battle pass, which features classic characters and gameplay elements that hark back to 2019 and 2020. This event also includes music remixes from renowned artists like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Ice Spice, and Juice WRLD, incorporating various iconic locations into the classic map.
