First Big Clue About Galaxy S25 Arrival Is Here

The Samsung Galaxy S25 has been anticipated for an early 2025 debut for some time now, and it seems we may finally have a specific date to look forward to. As reported by FNNews, a South Korean news outlet, Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for January 23, with the Galaxy S25 series taking center stage. This date marks the most precise timeline we’ve encountered regarding the unveiling of the Galaxy S25.

However, it’s wise to approach this information with caution since Samsung has yet to officially acknowledge any date for its Unpacked event. According to the same report, San Francisco is considered a strong possibility for the event’s location. The previous Galaxy Unpacked took place in Paris last July.

A confirmed launch date of January 23 would be welcome news, especially after earlier projections suggested a window between January and March 2025. The Galaxy S24 debuted on January 17, 2024, while its predecessors, the Galaxy S23 and S22, were announced in early February during their respective years.

Interestingly, the report also points to a new device in the S25 lineup called the Galaxy S25 Slim. Sources indicate that this model is almost confirmed and nearing completion, which would put Samsung in a good position to showcase it at the January event. This variant is rumored to retain the standard Galaxy S25 specifications but feature a slimmer design.

Samsung appears keen to build on the recent success of the Galaxy S24 and its Galaxy AI features. The Galaxy S24 has consistently ranked in Counterpoint Research’s top ten smartphone sales list over the past three months, a notable achievement, given that this period coincided with the release of new iPhones. Additionally, several midrange Samsung devices also made the cut into the top sales list.
