Cristiano Ronaldo, the famed Portuguese footballer, recently stirred excitement among fans by referring to his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez as “my wife,” sparking speculation about a possible marriage.
In a new video for the fitness brand Whoop, the 39-year-old Ronaldo seemed to imply a marital status with Rodríguez, 30. While giving a tour of his home gym, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner remarked, “Most important thing is, it’s not what you do, it’s you have to do. When I’m not training in the club, I like to work with my wife at home. I can push her and she can push me too.”
This comment set fans abuzz with the idea of the couple tying the knot. However, the excitement was tempered when Ronaldo’s publicist stated that they had “no knowledge of whether or not Cristiano is married to Georgina,” according to People.
Ronaldo, who has played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, has been with the Argentine-Spanish influencer since 2016. They met at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez worked at the time.
The couple shares two daughters, Bella Esmeralda, 2, and Alana Martina, 6. Ronaldo also has three older children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 7, and eldest son Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., 13, all born via surrogacy. Sadly, Bella’s twin brother, Ángel, passed away shortly after birth.
On her Netflix series “I am Georgina,” Rodríguez describes Ronaldo as a “very normal guy” and shared, “I dreamed of having a Prince Charming by my side and now I have him.”
Currently, Ronaldo is enjoying his time off after Portugal’s exit from the Euros 2024, following a quarter-final loss to France.
