Deemos Technology, a Chinese company specializing in AI-driven 3D model generators, has secured hundreds of millions of yuan in its latest funding round. The new capital will accelerate the global commercialization of its flagship product, Hyper3D Rodin.

Leading the investment were Cathay Capital and a private equity fund management arm affiliated with Shanghai’s state-owned capital investment. Several existing investors participated as well, with Lighthouse Capital serving as an advisor.

The fresh funding will support further development of cutting-edge 3D generative technology and speed up the adoption of Deemos’ solutions in sectors such as gaming, e-commerce, 3D printing, industrial design, and embodied intelligence.

Founded in 2020, Deemos has focused on creating Hyper3D Rodin, a tool capable of generating highly detailed 3D images and videos from text and images. The product has recently been upgraded to version Gen-2.5. After its launch, the company saw a fivefold increase in both subscriber numbers and annual recurring revenue within the first month.

Since ordinary users find working with 3D generative models to be challenging, Hyper3D is primarily targeted at businesses and professionals, including modelers, game developers, and 3D-printing enthusiasts eager to pay for advanced tools, according to co-founder and CTO Zhang Qixuan.

In the commercial sector, Deemos’ clients include prominent tech companies like ByteDance, known for TikTok; game engine provider Unity Software; and online collaborative design platforms Figma and Canva. The company reports that up to 80% of its revenue is generated from overseas markets.

With rising demand for embodied intelligence, China’s tech giants are increasing their investments in 3D generation. For example, ByteDance unveiled its next-generation 3D creation model, Seed3D 2.0, in April, while Tencent released HY-World 2.0 in the same month.

Looking ahead, future models will need to seamlessly integrate 3D and video generation to enable machines to learn in environments resembling the real world. Wu Di, Deemos’ co-founder and CEO, emphasized that the company will continue to enhance the quality of its foundational models and expand editing and agent functionalities.
