Cristiano Ronaldo Reveals Retirement Plans: What Fans Need to Know

Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has once again shared his thoughts on his retirement plans from professional play, indicating that the choice will not be a difficult one for him.

“When the time comes, I’ll step away. It won’t be a hard decision,” Ronaldo stated before Portugal’s Nations League match against Croatia in Lisbon.

“If I ever feel that I’m not making a valuable contribution anymore, I’ll be the first to exit,” he remarked, referencing his former teammate Pepe, who gracefully retired last August at the age of 41.

“People had excessively high expectations for the national team,” Ronaldo pointed out, noting that the challenging periods in a player’s career are opportunities for personal growth.

In a recent interview with the Portuguese channel NOW, Cristiano Ronaldo disclosed that his decision to retire from international football would be spontaneous and he would not inform anyone beforehand.

“When I decide to leave the national team, I won’t announce it to anyone ahead of time; it will be a spontaneous but carefully considered choice,” Ronaldo explained.

“At this moment, my focus is on helping the national team in their upcoming matches. We have the Nations League to play, and I am eager to participate.”

Furthermore, Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that he does not plan to depart from Al-Nassr, even with his contract set to expire at the end of the current season.

Recently, the iconic footballer launched his YouTube channel, titled “UR · Cristiano,” where he plans to share insights on football, family, nutrition, and other subjects.

Regarded as one of the greatest soccer players in history, Ronaldo holds the title of the most followed individual on social media, boasting 917 million followers across various platforms.
