The latest trailer for season 7 of Black Mirror brings back Netflix’s most haunting scenarios.
This British sci-fi anthology is set to deliver “six thrilling stories,” including a follow-up to the acclaimed episode USS Callister, which won an Emmy and premiered season 4. This sequel marks a first for Black Mirror, revisiting the narrative of an overlooked video game developer (Jesse Plemons) who designs a Star Trek-inspired game featuring digital versions of his colleagues. Returning cast members from USS Callister include Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, and Billy Magnussen.
“Viewers will recognize the actors from a particular spaceship in one of our previous episodes making a comeback,” stated series creator Charlie Brooker in an interview with Netflix. “This is our first time doing a sequel in Black Mirror. Typically, I tend to eliminate all the characters at the conclusion of an episode, but this time, I let some survive. I’m evolving as a person.”

In addition to the sequel episode, Will Poulter and Asim Chaudhry are set to reprise their roles as Tuckersoft employees Colin Ritman and Mohan Thakur. These characters were introduced in Bandersnatch, the groundbreaking interactive film from 2018 that allowed audiences to steer the plot towards various conclusions.

While Netflix has kept a tight lid on the other stories in season 7, it has revealed an impressive lineup of actors. The cast includes Michele Austin, Awkwafina, Milanka Brooks, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Patsy Ferran, Paul Giamatti, Lewis Gribben, Osy Ikhile, Rashida Jones, Siena Kelly, Rosy McEwen, Josh Finan, James Nelson-Joyce, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, Paul G. Raymond, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jay Simpson, Ben Bailey Smith, Harriet Walter, and Michael Workéyè.
Created by the Emmy-winning Charlie Brooker, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones, Black Mirror first aired its initial two seasons and a Christmas special on Channel 4 in the UK before moving exclusively to Netflix.
The seventh season of Black Mirror is set to premiere on April 10 on Netflix.
