A new report indicates that Apple might miss its original timeline for the Apple Intelligence launch, forcing users to wait longer. In contrast, Samsung’s Galaxy AI is on track to reach 200 million users this year.
One-Month Delay
Initially, Apple Intelligence was slated for release alongside iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in September. Bloomberg now reports a potential delay of at least one month, with iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 expected to introduce the features in October.
Even when Apple Intelligence does debut, not all features will be available immediately. Certain functionalities, including enhanced AI capabilities for Siri, might be delayed further, potentially arriving by the end of the year.
Additionally, the full suite won’t be accessible on all devices supporting iOS 18. Apple Intelligence requires the A17 Pro chip, limiting compatibility to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.
Samsung AI Reaches 100 Million Users
Samsung, on the other hand, has swiftly rolled out Galaxy AI. Within months of its announcement, the AI suite had reached over 100 million devices.
The company has efficiently extended many features to older models. Recent enhancements were introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 earlier this month, with plans to update older devices to One UI 6.1.1.
During the Unpacked event, Samsung revealed that Galaxy AI would be available on 200 million devices by year’s end. Given the strong sales of the new foldable phones and upcoming high-end tablets, it’s likely Galaxy AI will achieve this milestone with ease before the year’s close.
