After a long break, the Tony Hawk franchise resurfaced in 2020 with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, a remake of the first two iconic skateboarding titles. This remake not only modernized the visuals for current consoles but also refined the controls and introduced mechanics from later installments, such as reverts, spine transfers, and manuals. Many fans anticipated a follow-up with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, only to find out that the development team had been redirected to other projects, resulting in the game's cancellation. However, it seems that the project is back on track and set to launch on a platform near you sooner than expected. If you're eager to dive into the skate world before titles like GTA 6 and Borderlands 4 release later this year, here's everything we know about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.
Release Date

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is set to hit shelves on July 11, 2025. However, players who preorder either the Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Edition will enjoy three days of early access and can start playing on July 8. More details regarding preorders are below!
Platforms

Even though it's 2025, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will not leave last-generation consoles behind. The game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC. Additionally, it will be included in Game Pass Ultimate on day one.
Trailers
The reveal trailer kicks off with Tony Hawk skitching off a car to gain speed as "Ace of Spades" plays in the background. It showcases a variety of familiar and new locations as skaters perform tricks and navigate through various environments. There are impressive comparisons of how the remake looks compared to the original version, showcasing vastly improved lighting, models, and textures. The trailer concludes with a sneak peek of a waterpark level, followed by the release date announcement.
One element that remains unclear is whether the gameplay structure has changed. While the third installment featured a more traditional mission structure akin to the first two games, the fourth installment allowed players to explore levels freely and interact with characters to receive challenges and goals.
A dedicated trailer for the Digital Deluxe edition highlights the exclusive cosmetics available for this version, including the standout Doom Slayer and Revenant characters, along with various create-a-skater items.
Gameplay

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a skating game at its core, maintaining its arcade-style roots rather than pursuing a more simulation-focused approach. The game will include classic maps, songs, and skaters, but it’s still uncertain which specific elements might be missing. While we expect many of the original tracks to return, it's possible that not every licensed song or pro skater will be included. A confirmed list of skaters is available, but it’s unclear if that encompasses the full roster or if more surprises await players.
In addition to new levels, players can look forward to discovering some fresh tricks.
Online multiplayer will support up to 8 players in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.
