Agatha All Along Creator Wrote Unused Post-Credits Scenes

Agatha All Along stands out as one of the most popular entries from Marvel Studios in recent times. This spin-off from WandaVision debuted in late September and managed to charm even some of the more hesitant fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe across its nine episodes. Despite the thrilling setups for future character arcs, the finale notably omits any post-credits sequences.

Jac Schaeffer, the creator of Agatha All Along, explained that the absence of a post-credits scene wasn’t due to a lack of ideas. When questioned about this choice, she mentioned to Variety, “That’s a Marvel decision. I know nothing more than that.” Schaeffer revealed that she had indeed written several potential post-credits scenes, but they were ultimately left out due to internal decisions at Marvel.

“I crafted a few different tags because that’s standard for most Marvel projects. I truly enjoy writing them; some of my best work exists in the tags that didn’t make the cut. I could compile a binder of my tags—they’re so much fun to create since you can tease something without needing to deliver on it,” Schaeffer stated. “However, a lot of factors come into play when making those decisions, and I was informed we weren’t going to include a tag for this series.”

Schaeffer is no stranger to writing post-credits scenes; after all, her previous work on WandaVision concluded with a brief scene that set the stage for the events in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, particularly involving Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and her antagonistic storyline. Given this context, the lack of a post-credits scene in Agatha All Along surprised many viewers.

Marvel’s reasoning for this omission remains unclear for now. Nevertheless, Agatha All Along does effectively lay the groundwork for future escapades, particularly for Billy Maximoff (Joe Locke). In the show’s finale, he partners with the spirit of Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) to search for his brother’s lost soul, leaving fans eager to discover Marvel’s next moves regarding Agatha, Billy, and other Maximoff family members.

Agatha All Along is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
