Taif, a breathtaking valley famed for its lush gardens and hilly landscape, is located around 40 miles from Makkah in Saudi Arabia. This city holds significant historical value in Islam.
This is the same location where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) faced adversity while spreading the message of Islam. Rather than seeking vengeance against the tribes who persecuted him, he exhibited extraordinary compassion and prayed for their well-being.
A notable site in Taif is Masjid Abbas, positioned near the remnants of the old city wall. It was here that the Prophet (PBUH) suffered injuries from a group of young men when he attempted to invite local chieftains to embrace Islam.
When Angel Jibreel (AS) offered to obliterate the city between two mountains, the Prophet (PBUH) declined and chose instead to pray for the city’s inhabitants. Now, this area has developed into a vibrant marketplace, complete with picturesque paths, dining options, and recreational spaces.
Visitors can immerse themselves in traditional Arab culture while experiencing ancient customs within a contemporary environment that respects and honors the city’s heritage.

Taif is also crucial to Saudi Arabia’s agricultural industry. One of its highlights is the esteemed Al-Quraish Rose Factory, founded by the Quraish tribe.
The owner, Mohannad Al-Quraishi, shared that his father, Rashid Al-Quraishi, began flower cultivation in 1989 and established the factory in 1996.
Initially, the factory used traditional techniques to extract rose essence, creating perfumes, creams, and lotions exclusively for the royal family and as gifts for government officials.

However, with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 initiative, the products from the factory are now set to be marketed commercially, benefiting from financial and technical support aimed at establishing a new production facility.

In the winter, Taif reveals its full splendor, drawing visitors to its verdant mountains, delightful restaurants, coffee shops, and entertainment venues.
With its rich history, stunning natural beauty, array of recreational activities, and the aromatic Al-Quraish Rose Factory, Taif continues to be a prominent destination for those exploring Saudi Arabia’s cultural and natural treasures.
