You may not have heard of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 until now, but this upcoming RPG from Sandfall Interactive boasts an impressive lineup of actors in its English voice cast, featuring talents from both video games and film, as announced on the PlayStation Blog this Thursday.
The leading cast includes Charlie Cox, known for Daredevil, Jennifer English, who voiced Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3, Ben Starr, the voice behind Clive in Final Fantasy XVI, and Andy Serkis, acclaimed for his roles in The Lord of the Rings and many other franchises. Rounding out the cast are Kirsty Rider (Sandman), Shala Nyx (The Old Guard), Devora Wilde (Space Marine 2), Tracy Wiles (Metaphor: ReFantazio), Rich Keeble (Total War: Warhammer 3), and Maxence Cazorla.
“The cast has expertly captured the depth of their characters, each shaped by the unforgiving nature of their environment. Every individual has experienced profound loss and has coped in their own unique manner,” stated lead writer and voice producer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen.
Expedition 33 was unveiled during the 2024 Xbox Games Showcase with a visually captivating trailer, and preorders opened this past Friday. Players noticed that the game is listed on Amazon for $50, significantly lower than other titles of similar scope and genre. This raises the question: is it shorter or less intricate than the trailers imply?
The official X (formerly Twitter) account clarified that the pricing reflects the intention of their small team to allow “as many players as possible to experience our world.” They further indicated that the primary game is expected to offer over 30 hours of gameplay, with additional content for completionists.

Expedition 33 is a fantasy adventure RPG centered around a group determined to eliminate the Paintress, a creature that takes the lives of individuals of a certain age each year. A notable feature of the game is its reactive turn-based combat mechanic, which unfolds in real time and enables players to dodge, parry, and chain combos. Players will also be able to customize their character’s build to suit their playstyle and harmonize with their team.
Currently, Sandfall is targeting a spring 2025 launch, and the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
