If you’re just diving into the world of Monster Hunter Wilds, one vital piece of information to keep in mind is that the game shines brightest when played with friends. While you can manage with just your trusty Palico during the initial phases, facing tougher monsters will necessitate a squad of fellow hunters. If you find yourself alone, you can always summon additional hunters for support, but since Monster Hunter Wilds features cross-platform play, it’s optimal to gather your friends. If you’re unsure how to rally your hunting party, we’ve got you covered!
How to Invite Friends to Monster Hunter Wilds
There are multiple ways to invite friends to join you in Monster Hunter Wilds. Following the introductory tutorial, the entire game can be experienced in multiplayer mode.
Step 1: Launch Monster Hunter Wilds in either an open lobby or a private one. Searching for an empty lobby is an option too, but keep in mind that if it’s already full, you won’t be able to add friends to that session.
Step 2: Pause the game and navigate to the Communication tab.
Step 3: Scroll down until you find the Invite a Friend option.
Step 4: You can select a friend from your list or the players on your network, or generate a Share Link that provides a unique code for your friends to join you through their mobile devices.
If your friend is playing on a different platform, access the Communication tab and go to the Player List to input their Hunter ID. Once located, you can send them a friend request along with your invitation.
Step 5: If a friend sends you an invitation, check the Invitation List to view all invites and accept one to join their game.
Monster Hunter Wilds also allows players to form Squads with up to 200 members, making it easy to manage friend invitations via the Member List.
You can also invite friends directly when starting specific quests from the Quest Counter.
For private lobbies, remember to share your lobby ID with friends, which is displayed on the right side of the Communication menu.
Regardless of the invitation method you choose, keep in mind that a maximum of four players is allowed per quest, while lobbies can accommodate up to 100 players.
