At first glance, it might seem amusing to watch Sonic behind the wheel of a car, but the blue hedgehog’s racing games have turned into some of the most celebrated titles in the franchise. The next entry, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, promises to whisk players away to exciting new realms. While we don’t yet have a release date, you can get an early experience by signing up for Sega’s closed network test. Here’s how to get involved.
How to Sign Up for the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Closed Test
To be considered for the test, all you need is a valid email address and a PlayStation 5. Make sure to register by February 19 to secure your chance, as submissions will be closed after that date.
Although the game is set to launch on other platforms eventually, this closed test is exclusive to PS5 users.
Step 1: Navigate to the official Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds site on Sega’s website.
Step 2: Scroll to find and click on Closed Network Test.
Step 3: Review the rules and enter your email address in the designated field.
You’ll also need to provide your date of birth, full name, country, and select your platform. Additionally, you will be subscribing to Sega’s updates.
Step 4: Await a notification on February 20 if you have been selected, along with instructions on how to access the test.
Keep in mind that signing up does not automatically secure a spot in the test, but applicants are not evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis. Everyone who registers by the deadline has an equal opportunity.
If chosen, the testing period will run from February 21 at 4:00 PM PT to February 23 at 4:00 PM PT. Participants will get to race on six tracks and have access to five different cross worlds, featuring nine characters and 16 vehicles. The characters available for the test will include:
- Sonic
- Tails
- Amy
- Knuckles
- Shadow
- Eggman
- Omega
- Zazz
- Cream
Plus, those who participate will receive an exclusive in-game bonus when the full game is released.
