In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, every choice you make carries significant weight, especially when it comes to what you choose to pack in your backpack. Your inventory size is limited, and each item adds to your overall weight. Overloading yourself can lead to being encumbered, making movement challenging. You certainly don’t want to discover a valuable cache with an exceptional weapon or gear only to find you can’t transport it back to town. While it may seem that the initial weight limit is fixed throughout your journey—given the absence of skill trees or levels in the game—there are ways to boost your carrying capacity. If you’re navigating the Zone, be sure to look at other useful tips and tricks for Stalker 2.
Boosting Your Carrying Capacity
To enhance your carrying capacity, focus on upgrading your body armor. At any upgrade vendor, choose your armor from the upgrade options and navigate to the highest upgrade slot. Here, you’ll find the Swen-on Pockets upgrade located at the end of the list, which provides a 10% increase in capacity. While this boost may seem modest, it’s the maximum increase we have encountered. To unlock this upgrade, you’ll need to complete any prior upgrades, so it’s wise to invest in this upgrade path early on.
While not a direct increase to your carrying capacity, the Fastening System upgrade on your armor lightens its weight by 2, effectively allowing you to carry more overall. Although this may seem like a small advantage, every little bit counts in Stalker 2, where players must leverage every opportunity to gain an edge.
