Known primarily for its impressive lineup of robot vacuums, including the upcoming Saros Z70, Roborock has also introduced a range of wet-dry vacuums. The latest addition, the F25 series, features the Roborock F25 ACE. This versatile machine effectively mops and vacuums hard surfaces, making it my go-to option for keeping spaces like the kitchen, bathroom, and entryway spotless. While I can’t say I eagerly anticipate cleaning, the F25 ACE certainly simplifies the process, allowing for a thorough clean with minimal effort.
Despite its remarkable cleaning capabilities, the F25 ACE has a few notable downsides. The first is its steep price tag — while not the priciest wet-dry vacuum available, it comes close. Additionally, it isn’t fully automated; you’ll need to periodically empty the dirty water tank after each use to prevent unpleasant odors. Refilling the clean water tank and changing the roller mop are also maintenance tasks you’ll need to manage yourself.
However, these issues are typical for most wet-dry vacuums, and the F25 ACE’s numerous strengths make its minor shortcomings easy to overlook.
Engineered for Efficiency
While most people don’t find mopping to be enjoyable, the Roborock F25 ACE is engineered to make it as effortless as possible. Its lightweight construction and dual brushless motors facilitate smooth movement across your floors. Navigating it around my home was genuinely enjoyable, as the motors provide a noticeable push, making the process feel seamless. With this vacuum, mopping never feels like a tedious workout.
The device features multiple power levels that you can adjust at the touch of a button, allowing for immediate response to different kinds of messes. Additionally, a built-in sensor monitors dirt levels in real time, displaying this information on the vacuum’s screen, so you’ll know exactly when your floors are thoroughly cleaned without needing to guess if another pass is necessary.
Equipped with a built-in detergent dispenser for targeting tough stains, the vacuum’s lay-flat design makes it easy to maneuver beneath furniture, while scrapers prevent tangles and streaks. I tested the F25 ACE on various floor types, including tile, luxury vinyl, and traditional vinyl, without seeing any streaks or residue remaining after cleaning.
Another feature that stands out is its edge-to-edge cleaning capability. The roller mop is positioned very close to the vacuum’s edges, allowing it to eliminate a mere 1mm gap. This design enhances cleaning efficiency in tight spaces, reducing the need for additional passes.
Maintenance Made Simple
Once you’ve finished mopping and vacuuming, the F25 ACE conveniently comes with a docking station to clean, dry, and charge the unit. After placing the vacuum in the dock, simply press a button to initiate the process, which begins by washing the mop using hot water. Although this stage can be somewhat loud, it only lasts a few minutes.
Following the rinse, you’ll be reminded to remove and dispose of the dirty water tank. While you handle that, the mop enters a drying cycle, ensuring it’s ready for your next cleaning session and helping to avoid unpleasant odors. This quieter drying phase takes only a few minutes.
If at any point you lose track of where you are in the process, the mobile app can provide status updates as well as settings adjustments. While this feature is more essential for Roborock’s robot vacuums, it still offers a straightforward way to monitor your investment.
Thanks to the docking station, ongoing maintenance for the F25 ACE consists mainly of emptying the dirty water tank and keeping up with roller mop replacements. You will also need to refill the clean water tank, which could be required more frequently than expected, depending on your home’s size.
Using the mop has kept my hands clean, a marked improvement over traditional mopping, which can be both messy and lengthy. Roborock has done an outstanding job in streamlining these manual processes, making it one of my favorite features of the F25 ACE.
Final Thoughts
For those looking to enhance their mopping experience, the Roborock F25 ACE serves as a fantastic option. Its superior cleaning performance, combined with its self-cleaning capabilities, significantly reduces time spent on manual tasks. Although the rinsing process can be a bit loud, it’s a negligible inconvenience for the automation it offers.
However, if you have a mix of hard floors and carpets, you might need to consider a different solution, as the F25 ACE isn’t carpet-friendly — a common limitation for wet-dry vacuums. Depending on your budget, an option like the Roborock Saros 10R may be more appropriate. This model can both mop and vacuum and is designed to leave its mopping pads in the dock while cleaning carpets, providing more automation despite its higher price tag.
For households primarily with hard surfaces, the Roborock F25 ACE offers an impressive blend of efficiency and convenience. While you will still need to guide the unit around, its dual brushless motors and effective roller mop make the process incredibly easy. Afterward, the docking station handles the cleanup for you.
If cost is a concern, exploring the various models within the F25 series may reveal options that are priced significantly lower than the F25 ACE.
