In Throne and Liberty, you’ll find that Moonstones and Marind Ore are essential resources needed for a variety of crafting recipes. It can be overwhelming when you check a recipe and realize you don’t have enough of a specific resource.
Fortunately, gathering Moonstones and Marind Ore isn’t overly complicated. While some resources may require significant hunting and exploration, you’ll find that collecting Moonstones and Marind Ore is relatively straightforward, though it may take a bit of time and effort. Sometimes, you might even need to be at a specific location during certain times.
Where to Locate Moonstone
Moonstones are easy to locate. If you’ve roamed around Solisium, you’ve more than likely spotted them. You can find Moonstones in various outcrops around the map. The type of Moonstone Ore collected will depend on the specific outcrop you mine.
Some outcrops yield Manasteel and Pure Gold, while others might provide you with Rubrix, Stalon, or Emeret Ore. Each type of Moonstone varies in its value based on what you’re trying to craft, so certain Moonstones might be more valuable for your projects.
Moonstones appear on the minimap as different rock-like symbols, reflecting the type of outcrop available. Keep in mind that resource nodes are shared by all players on the server, which means you may have to compete with others to gather them.
You can gather ores while taking damage, but if your character is stunned, you will need to restart the gathering process.
While Moonstones are scattered across the map, certain areas have higher concentrations of them. Key spots include the southern shores and around Spiral Cliff, as well as significant deposits found south of the Shattered Temple and throughout Urstella Fields.
What Are Moonstones Used For?
Moonstones are primarily used for crafting various armor and weapons within the game. You can access the crafting menu to find recipes for any items you can create. It also allows you to see the specific types of Moonstones needed for different Ore requirements.
Often, you might not have enough Ore to complete a crafting project. In such cases, it’s possible to trade a lower-quality Ore for a higher-quality version, thus saving yourself the trouble of searching for rarer resources.
Where to Find Marind Ore
You’ll likely find Marind Ore less frequently than Moonstones, but it’s still relatively accessible if you know where to search. A great location to gather Marind Ore is on the back of Gigantrite, the giant friendly flying creature wandering the skies of Solisium.
While seeking Marind Ore on Gigantrite is your best bet, you can also find it from resource nodes during rain. However, unless you can control the weather, this method is less reliable and relies on finding the right conditions.
In addition to mining, you can also acquire Marind Ore by defeating specific enemies. This includes foes encountered in open-world Dungeons. To secure Marind Ore drops, you’ll need Abyss Contract Tokens. Grinding through enemies in Syleus’s Abyss and the Ant Nest can be an effective farm strategy.
What Is Marind Ore Used For?
Marind Ore is mainly for crafting Skill Growth Books, essential for leveling up your skills. You’ll need to collect several of these, and quests, especially leveling ones, will reward you with a variety of them. However, you’ll likely need to start crafting your own once you reach level 50.
The required quality of Marind Ore corresponds to the quality of the skill books: you’ll need green-quality Marind Ore for a green-quality Skill Growth Book, blue for blue, and purple for purple. If you have excess lower-quality Ore, you can convert it at a 15:1 ratio for the higher quality.
How To Obtain The Wandering Youth Gneiss Amitoi
Mining isn’t just about gathering Ores; there are Amitoi to discover as well. You can randomly obtain the Wandering Youth Gneiss Amitoi while mining Moonstone or Marind Ore, although it has a very low drop rate, making finding one quite exciting.
Collecting the Wandering Youth Gneiss Amitoi completes one of the two Amitoi needed for the Sollands Abundance Pal Synergy within the Amitoi Lithograph Book. By gathering both the Wandering Youth Gneiss and the Sprouting Talem Amitoi, you will receive 0.5 percent extra Sollant passively, which is a nice perk.
