The Pig Farm in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is situated deep within the Cordon Region. Depending on your progress in the game, reaching it can be quite a challenge, as you’ll need to navigate through several enemy checkpoints. When you finally arrive, you’ll find yourself in a dangerous setting, making it crucial to figure out the puzzles quickly in order to survive.
Exploration in Stalker 2 is both thrilling and terrifying, and it’s a key part of the gameplay loop. You’ll uncover valuable gear and currency when you venture off the beaten path. The Cordon area is not one you might immediately explore, as it lies southeast of the Lesser Zone. Getting there can be tricky because you must traverse a checkpoint without getting caught, even if the western checkpoint is accessible.
How To Open The Pig Farm Stash Door
Where To Find The Pig Farm Generator
Upon reaching the Pig Farm, you will notice two prominent buildings with vehicles positioned at each end, hinting at their use as defenses. If you choose to explore inside the buildings, you’ll find a locked gate in the northern building that conceals the main stash, along with another locked door that must be opened first. Fortunately, you won’t need a key to access either the locked door or the gate, but you’ll have to find a way in.
If you haven’t gone inside yet, it’s best to stay along the exterior and follow the wall of the northern building. Head to the northwest corner on the outside, indicated by the green arrow in the image above. If you’ve already explored inside, exit the building and follow the same route to the specified location.
Beware of mutated pigs lurking in the area. In my experience, they didn’t appear until the mission was nearly complete, but that might vary. Keep a shotgun handy in case you need to fight your way out.
Once you reach that corner, look for an open window. The first window might be closed, but the second window should be accessible for a peek. From this vantage point, you can see the other side of the locked door you couldn’t access earlier. Use any weapon you don’t mind using some ammo on, like your pistol, to shoot at the lock. Visibility might be an issue, especially at night, so try to tackle this quest during daylight. A scoped weapon, like Valik Lummox’s AKM-74S, can also be particularly useful here.
If you successfully shoot the lock, you’ll notice that the glint reflecting off the lock is gone. Head back inside the building and go through the now-unlocked door. Inside the room, you should find a green generator in the back corner, accompanied by a switch. Approach the generator and power it up, then flip the switch. You can now exit the room and make your way to the opposite end of the building.
Interestingly, as soon as I turned on the generator, I heard the mutations outside for the first time, but they never entered the building. Also, you may feel trapped by the door upon returning to it. It was slightly ajar when I returned, and I found that I couldn’t open it with the usual interact buttons. However, I was able to force it open using just my character’s physics, so don’t panic and reload the game if you find yourself in the same situation.
At this point, the gate should be wide open, revealing a large blue safe just waiting to be accessed. You might need to look down to see the interact button, but there’s no further puzzle involved; you just need to open the safe door.
Unfortunately, the loot inside isn’t the best the game has to offer, but it still constitutes a decent supply cache for players to restock their inventory or sell to traders for some cash. Afterward, you may need to escape from the now-angered mutated pigs, but that should wrap up your adventures at the Pig Farm in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
