The Nightshift Mythic Vault is a brand-new feature that debuted in Season 1 of Chapter 6 in Fortnite. This hidden treasure chest is filled with various items, making it a valuable target in almost any match. Generally, these vaults hold an assortment of weapons, ammunition, healing supplies, and Slurp Barrels. Therefore, it’s always a good idea to track down and unlock the Mythic Vault whenever you have the chance.
However, don’t expect it to be a walk in the park. Not only is the vault hard to locate, but opening it involves a complex series of steps. You’ll need to complete several tasks before you can access the treasure inside. Below are details on how to locate the Mythic Vault, score its key, and finally, get it open in Fortnite Chapter 6.
Where to Locate the Mythic Vault
Location of Fortnite’s Mythic Vault
The Mythic Vault is tucked away in the Nightshift Forest, a new area on the current map of Fortnite. It’s situated on the far western region of the island, directly north of Warrior’s Watch and south of Twinkle Terrace. You’ll find the vault in the heart of the forest, marked by the white pin icon on the map above. It’s the smaller building among the two in that section of the forest.
Keep in mind that Nightshift Forest is currently cloaked in darkness, making visibility quite poor. So, be prepared for a bit of a challenge as you navigate the area in search of the vault, especially since other players will be trying to access it as well.
How to Obtain the Mythic Vault Key
Locating Sprite Shrines
To unlock the Mythic Vault, first, you will need to acquire a key. Before that, you must locate a Sprite. These Sprites can be found at various Sprite Shrines scattered throughout the map. You may stumble upon one while far from the Nightshift Forest. If your goal is to reach the Mythic Vault quickly, the nearest Sprite Shrine is located just south of the woods, at the base of the mountain that overlooks Warrior’s Watch. Alternatively, there’s another shrine at the eastern edge of the forest.
Each Sprite you find might grant you different unique effects, depending on the Sprite itself, so try to catch as many as you can!
If you cannot find either shrine, just follow the beam of white light shooting straight up from the nearest Sprite Shrine. Interact with it to collect your Sprite.
Locating the Bushranger
Your next task is to track down the Bushranger, a friendly NPC who will exchange your Sprite for the Vault Key. The Bushranger can be found at one of three locations marked with a red circle in the map above; that means they’ll be located on the western, southern, or eastern side of the Nightshift Forest. Approach them and choose “Show Item” in the dialogue menu to swap your Sprite for the key.
With the key in hand, head back to the Mythic Vault to start the opening process.
How to Access the Mythic Vault
Plus, What’s Inside
Once you have the Vault Key, return to the Mythic Vault and interact with the door to open it. There’s no need for additional puzzles or effort here—simply wait for the door to slide open, then step inside. The contents of the Mythic Vault can vary from match to match, but it will always include several Slurp Barrels for healing and at least five or six chests. These chests can contain a variety of loot such as weapons, consumables, and accessories just like those found in standard chests.
More significantly, each vault contains a Typhoon Blade. This unique melee weapon allows for a standard attack as well as an aerial slam attack that deals 70 damage, and a launch attack that inflicts 90 damage. Having the Typhoon Blade not only boosts your sprint speed and reduces stamina use but also enables you to perform a higher jump while sprinting and execute a mid-air dash.
Although the Typhoon Blade can be found elsewhere, accessing the Mythic Vault is the most reliable method to obtain it.
With that information, you’re all set to access the Mythic Vault and claim the Typhoon Blade. This powerful weapon not only provides fantastic combat capabilities but also allows you to experience a distinct and enjoyable gameplay style that makes the current season worth exploring.
