The One-Eyed Shield in Elden Ring, featuring the visage of a cyclopean deity, offers substantial physical resistance to its bearer and unleashes fiery projectiles upon foes. It stands out as one of the few shields in the game with notable offensive capabilities, making upgrades highly recommended.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of locating the One-Eyed Shield and ways to effectively utilize it for both defense and attack.
Finding the One-Eyed Shield
You can acquire the One-Eyed Shield by defeating the Chief Guardian Arghanthy.
Arghanthy can be found on the rooftop of the Guardians’ Garrison located on the Mountaintop of the Giants. To access this area, you’ll need to complete your journey through Leyndell, the Royal Capital, and navigate the Forbidden Lands.
After making your way to the Mountaintop of the Giants via the Grand Lift of Rold, head northeast. You’ll come across the Guardians’ Garrison as you proceed toward the Fire Giant.
This area is filled with Fire Priests. Defeat these enemies and ascend the staircase. When you reach the top, smash the boxes near the guard tower and drop down onto the rampart.
Continue along the path and ascend the next flight of stairs to reach the rooftop of the Guardians’ Garrison. Chief Guardian Arghanthy will emerge from the adjacent guard tower.
Arghanthy uses destructive fire spells, and her shield’s ability can eliminate unprepared players in a single hit. Consider using the Flame, Protect Me spell to enhance your fire resistance.
To take down Arghanthy efficiently, perform a slam attack. Equip a heavy weapon, jump, then hit the R2/L2 button. After dodging back, repeat this strategy until she’s defeated.
Once you conquer Chief Guardian Arghanthy, she will drop the One-Eyed Shield.
