In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, the shops are few and far between, making each one unique. As you progress to City Town, you’ll unlock the Imagination Cafe, which offers a delightful assortment of mochi, dango, boba, and onigiri that you can prepare yourself.
This guide will help you unlock the Imagination Cafe in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. While the cafe will eventually open, this information will guide you through the initial steps, allowing you to utilize the Chef’s Station to start crafting various dishes.
Before you dive into A Whole New Menu and unlock the Imagination Cafe, there are a few things you need to do. First, visit City Town and become friends with Usahana. Once you achieve a friendship level of three with her, this quest will be available to you.
To get started, simply talk to her. You’ll likely find Usahana in the same spot where you first met her.
This quest consists of four steps, with two of them occurring in the Seaside Resort. Below, you’ll find a guide on how to complete the first two steps before moving on to the latter parts.
Visit With Hello Kitty
After you talk to Usahana, your first task is to visit Hello Kitty, who can be found near the Seaside Resort plaza. While there, Usahana will express interest in the Hello Kitty Cafe. Go inside the cafe, as you will eventually need to bake the following dishes:

Visit With Chococat
After you prepare the three dishes for Usahana, your next task is to visit Chococat. He’ll request the following items:
- 10x Mechanisms
- 10x Sparks
You can quickly craft these at a nearby table before handing them over to Chococat. After you complete this, return to City Town.
Where To Find The Colorful Key
Once back in City Town, Usahana is ready to launch the Imagination Cafe, but she’s misplaced the key. It’s up to you to find it. The key is located on the rooftop of the building where the Imagination Cafe sits.
If you look at the map, you’ll see a grey-tiled area north of the Imagination Cafe umbrellas. The key is on a blue hexagon in the center of that area. However, getting there requires some effort.
You need to navigate toward the moon-shaped road area on the right side of City Town. At the back of this area, there are pipes leading upwards. You can’t scale the standard walls, but you can climb the pipes.
Continue climbing until the pipe bends left, then move sideways along it. Eventually, you’ll reach a pink rooftop area. You should see another pipe leading up from there. Climb it to reach the layer where the Colorful Key is located.
We recommend climbing a bit higher to reach the fast-travel mailbox up here. This will allow you to quickly access the rooftops without having to climb the pipes again. While there are no characters in this area, you can find chests and collect items.
After you grab the key, return to Usahana and give it to her. Once you’ve done that, the Imagination Cafe will open, and you can step inside.
There’s one final task in this quest: making mochi. Usahana will guide you through the straightforward steps. After you prepare any flavor of mochi and deliver it to Usahana, the quest will conclude. You’ll then have access to the Chef’s Station in the Imagination Cafe whenever you like.
Additionally, the Imagination Cafe includes a small terminal called the Imagination Cafe Computer. This part won’t be accessible until you finish the quest known as Imagination Cafe, which unlocks after reaching friendship level seven with Usahana.
