The Giant-Crusher is a massive hammer featured in Elden Ring that primarily focuses on Strength scaling. This colossal weapon stands out as one of the top choices for Strength builds, offering the ability to decimate smaller enemies with just one swing.
While tracking down the Giant-Crusher may take some effort, it’s undoubtedly rewarding for players who favor a Strength-based approach. Let’s guide you through the process of obtaining it and creating a powerful build centered around this weapon.
Where to Find the Giant-Crusher
The Giant-Crusher can be found inside a treasure chest located in a carriage on the Altus Plateau, a zone you’ll encounter in the mid to late stages of the game. Though it’s possible to reach the Altus Plateau early by acquiring both halves of the Dectus Medallion or traversing the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, we advise against taking this route.
Once you’re in the Altus Plateau, make your way east until you arrive at the Outer Wall Phantom Tree Site of Grace, which is just outside of the Leyndell capital. From there, head straight south to discover a carriage nestled in a small camp.
Watch out for the Ulcerated Tree Spirit mini-boss lurking in the area. You have two options: defeat the mini-boss to claim a Golden Seed or sneak around the camp to access the carriage. Open the treasure chest there to obtain the colossal hammer.
Giant-Crusher Stats and Requirements
To wield the Giant-Crusher, you’ll need a formidable 60 Strength, making this the highest Strength requirement for any weapon in Elden Ring.
At its base, the Giant-Crusher delivers 155 Physical damage along with C scaling in Strength.
You can enhance the Giant-Crusher by using Smithing Stones, allowing upgrades up to +25. We recommend a Heavy Infusion to boost its Strength scaling from B to S at max level.
The hammer’s default skill is Endure, although you can also infuse it with various Ashes of War, such as Lion’s Claw (the top choice), to deal significant damage, especially during PvP encounters.
This massive hammer weighs 26.5 units and can be sold to any merchant for 100 Runes. Additionally, you can apply greases or magic buffs to grant it elemental attack capabilities and augment its physical damage.
Optimal Giant-Crusher Build in Elden Ring
The Giant-Crusher stands as one of the premier weapons against late-game bosses and will also be formidable in the upcoming DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. Since it’s built primarily for strength, aim to invest heavily in your Strength stat, shooting for around 80. Also, build up your Endurance to handle a heavier equipment load.
For your Ash of War, the Lion’s Claw skill delivers a powerful spinning slam attack that can obliterate foes in a single blow.
In terms of gear, don the Raptor’s Black Feather to boost your jump attacks, essential for a dual-wielding build in New Game Plus (NG+).
Consider using the Claw Talisman and Red Feathered Branchsword to enhance your jump attacks and overall damage when your health is low. Additionally, the Ritual Sword Talisman is recommended for maximizing your damage output when at full health.
For Crystal Tears, opt for the Greenburst Crystal Tear for quicker stamina recovery. Armed with this gear and these items, you’ll be ready to effortlessly take down most bosses and dominate your opponents in PvP with the Giant-Crusher Hammer.
