Romancing Saga 2: The Revenge of the Seven stays true to its roots, being a solid remake of the original game while introducing some fresh features. One of the notable expansions is the option to recruit the dancer class.
The dancer is arguably the most effective rapier user in the game. She performs her roles adeptly and is also a formidable spellcaster, making her one of the top classes available (and that’s not even factoring in her impressive class ability). However, unlocking her potential requires a significant investment of your time and effort.
How to Recruit the Dancer
You can recruit the dancer by speaking with her at the Atlanticus tavern after watching her dance. It’s a straightforward task—provided you’ve completed the intricate Mermaid Quest first. Unfortunately, this class is locked until you finish the Mermaid Quest. This quest includes a series of steps like:
- Finding the mermaid in Atlanticus.
- Conversing with the witch.
- Collecting the swallow’s nest from Toba.
- Getting the eggshell from The Savannah.
- Saving the mole people.
- Gathering water from Lake Aqua.
- Acquiring the potion from the witch.
- Finally, using the potion to speak with the mermaid three times.
Clearly, the Mermaid Quest is complex. For a more thorough step-by-step guide, feel free to check our full walkthrough.
You must complete the entire Mermaid Quest with a single emperor. If your emperor dies or there’s a time skip, you will fail the quest. It appears impossible to recruit the dancer if you don’t complete this quest successfully.
Overview of the Dancer Class
The Dancer class is one of the most adaptable in the game. While her strength and vitality are her lowest stats, they remain around average levels. She boasts impressive speed and dexterity, along with a high magic attribute. Proficient with both the rapier and water magic, she excels in close-quarters combat while being a capable water magic practitioner.
Moreover, her special ability, Penny Pincher, allows her to recover a quarter of the Overdrive gauge after executing an overdrive attack. This significantly boosts your chance of using the game’s most powerful attacks more often.
