Unlocking Shadow in Sonic Speed Simulator: A Complete Guide

Top Chaos and Trails in Sonic Speed Simulator Revealed!

In the popular game Sonic Speed Simulator on Roblox, players race through various levels at lightning speed alongside beloved characters from the Sonic franchise. As you collect Chaos Orbs, you can increase your speed and showcase your style by dressing your character in cool outfits and adding Chao companions.

One highlight of the game is the inclusion of Shadow the Hedgehog, a character that fans adore. You can unlock Shadow for free by following our guide, allowing you to race through the iconic Green Hill Zone as the Ultimate Lifeform. Let’s explore how to do this!

Where to Find Shadow

To unlock Shadow the Hedgehog, you will need to complete the Release Shadow Event, located in the Lost Valley Zone.

Once you arrive, look for a large pyramid in the distance with a path leading up to it. Follow this path and you will find yourself at the pyramid’s entrance, which contains an Event podium. Here, you’ll need to complete four quests to unlock Shadow.

How to Unlock Shadow

Completing the quests necessary to unlock Shadow can be time-consuming, so we’ll break them down from hardest to easiest.

Quest 1: Combat the Hologram

The first quest, and the toughest one, is part of the Hologram Havoc Event. This event takes place in Lost Valley, near the path that leads to the pyramid.

This event includes three tasks:

  • Defeat 100 Badniks,
  • Collect 1,000 Master Emerald Shards, and
  • Break 30 Stone Tablets.

Badniks are the standard enemies encountered throughout Sonic Speed Simulator. They can be defeated with a single hit, and players with a Super tier character can even defeat them just by running into them.

While traversing Lost Valley, players will come across Master Emerald Shards scattered throughout the area. You’ll need to gather a total of 1,000 shards for this quest.

If you have Chao or Fast Friends with the Event bonus stat, each Badnik you defeat or Master Emerald Shard you collect will be counted as multiple, speeding up the collection process significantly!

You can also find Stone Tablets hidden around Lost Valley, which can be destroyed similarly to regular enemies. Unlike Badniks, once a Stone Tablet is broken, it does not respawn. Fortunately, there are more Stone Tablets scattered around than needed for the quest, so keep an eye out for them!

After completing all these tasks, you will gain access to the Hologram Metal Sonic character, allowing you to proceed to Quest 2.

Quest 2: Solve the Android Anomaly

The second quest involves another distinct event, the Android Anomaly Event, which is found in Green Hill Zone near the spawn area.

Your task here is to collect Rebirth Energy, which can be earned through completing Time Trials and Races.

Emerald Hill Time Trial 1 offers the most Rebirth Energy of all Time Trials. Completing this trial a few times will make quick work of this event.

Finishing this quest will reward you with Android Shadow Orange, and you’ll be ready for Quest 3.

Quest 3: Destroy 100 Force Field Generators

In Lost Valley, you’ll find large Force Field Generators that can be destroyed like regular enemies. They respawn over time, so you can defeat 100 of them to finish this quest, which rewards you with five Dark Chao.

The Events are not exclusive, so while you are working on the Android Anomaly Event, keep an eye out for Force Field Generators, as both quests can be completed simultaneously in Lost Valley.

Quest 4: Defeat 400 Badniks

As previously mentioned, Badniks are common enemies found throughout the game. You’ll need to defeat 400 of them to complete this quest and earn the Chaos Spear Trail.

Progress made in the Android Anomaly Event counts here too, meaning you can kill two birds with one stone.

Unlock Shadow the Hedgehog

After finishing all four quests, return to the pyramid where a gate will be open. Inside, you can unlock Shadow the Hedgehog as a playable character!

How to Unlock Shadow’s Outfits

If you’re not after the full character but just want to enjoy playing as Shadow, you can unlock several outfits for him by completing some simple events, bypassing the need to finish the entire unlock quests.

Outfits in Sonic Speed Simulator are treated as separate characters, meaning you can unlock and use them without owning the full Shadow character.

How to Unlock Riders Shadow

Riders Shadow, a version of Shadow from Sonic Riders, can be acquired as a reward for playing Sonic Speed Simulator for two days, selled as a login reward.

How to Unlock Flame Shadow

Flame Shadow pertains to an outfit from Sonic Rivals that Shadow can wear as a cosmetic. To unlock Flame Shadow, players must complete the Shadow’s Revenge Event, which includes two tasks:

  • Destroy 350 Super Badniks found exclusively in Emerald Hill, possessing up to 50,000 HP. To achieve this, you’ll want a strong Chao or Trail in order to complete the second task easily;
  • Inflict a total of 40 million damage. Achieving this is straightforward with the right Trail, such as the Chili Dog Trail in Hill Top Zone.

Event stat Chao can significantly hasten this process, as each Badnik destroyed counts multiple times depending on your Event status!

How to Unlock Adventure Shadow

Adventure Shadow, a version from Sonic Adventure 2, can be unlocked in Space Colony Ark Zone as part of the Project Shadow Event.

This event involves collecting 7,500 Research Folders scattered throughout Space Colony Ark Zone—again, the Event stat will make this much simpler!
