Unlocking Rewards in The Sims 4: Life & Death Crypts Guide

If you’ve been exploring the Ravenwood area in The Sims 4: Life & Death, you might have come across a crypt or two. Unlike the usual gravestones found in the cemetery at Crow’s Crossing, crypts are larger and designed to accommodate multiple bodies. You can actually go inside each one and see what secrets they hold.

Brave Sims who dare to enter the crypts may stumble upon all sorts of treasures. Inside, you can discover gemstones, several tarot cards from Lady Ravendancer Goth’s deck, eerie moodlets, and much more in The Sims 4.

What Activities Can You Enjoy in a Crypt?

Whether you visit the crypts in the back corner of Eternal Rest cemetery or the one in front of the unusual Specter family lot, The Sims 4: Life & Death introduced these crypts to enhance your game experience and add a polished touch to any custom cemetery.

When you interact with a crypt, there are a variety of things you can do. If you brought a friend to the cemetery, you can step inside a crypt and share some ghost stories, which might make your Sim feel a bit playful. If you’re visiting with someone special, you can even Woohoo in the crypts now! Looking for a more peaceful option? You can also take a nap inside—these neighbors will be the quietest you’ve ever known!

Beyond the conventional methods available on your Sim’s smartphone or computer, you can also pursue a career as an Undertaker by interacting with a crypt in Ravenwood. Perhaps your Sim feels inspired to help the deceased or support their loved ones?

Discovering Rewards by Exploring Crypts

One of the highlights of the crypts in The Sims 4: Life & Death is the ability to embark on exploration adventures! If your Sim isn’t afraid of the dark, you can use chance cards to explore the crypts whenever they discover one. When your Sim enters, you’ll be prompted with a series of text-based adventures that can yield different outcomes.

You may need to pass various skill checks to unlock specific options, and your choices may lead you to different rewards each time you venture inside! Skills in Fitness and Charisma may be directly tested, and having some experience with a musical instrument can be an advantage as well. Plus, it wouldn’t hurt to carry some snacks in your inventory.

Additionally, you might uncover some of the missing tarot cards from Lady Ravendancer Goth’s collection while exploring the crypts, as the suit cards can exclusively be found there.

You may also encounter Waylon Warez, the Mysterious Merchant, who occasionally sets up a pop-up shop within the crypts. Randomly trading items with him can yield interesting finds, including tarot cards, though his appearances aren’t guaranteed.

If exploring crypts on your own isn’t appealing, there are key reasons to venture inside beyond collecting tarot cards. The Ghost Historian aspiration requires you to explore crypts several times to find rare items for some of its milestones. Additionally, if you’re assisting the ghostly character Alice near the Guardian Tree with Alice’s Sorrow, you’ll need to search the crypts as part of that quest.

During your quest involving Alice, you’ll find her child, Deimos, inside a crypt. He has a unique card that requires some Thanatology skill. To complete that quest requirement, you’ll need to choose the option to "Read the Stone Tablet" when prompted to successfully find Deimos.
