The countdown to the new year is on, and to ring it in, Monopoly Go is hosting a lively celebration. You could call it a New Year’s Eve Bash! So what can you expect from this festive event? Get ready to land on tax tiles to rack up points and earn pickaxes—essentially, just another typical way to celebrate the new year!
This New Year’s Eve Bash runs from 10 AM on December 31 until 10 AM EST on January 2. It coincides with the New Year’s Treasure event, which means you’ll be accumulating plenty of pickaxes along the way. Get ready to dive into the new year with some exciting dice rolls!
Earning Rewards in the New Year’s Eve Bash Event
To earn rewards during the New Year’s Eve Bash, you’ll want to keep an eye on certain tiles—specifically, the tax tiles that you usually fear. Landing on these tiles will earn you points:
- The Electric Company and Water Works tiles will net you four points. Normally, these give a minor cash amount.
- The Luxury Tax and Income Tax tiles will also give you four points, which is quite nice since these tiles usually take away your money.
If you’re curious about how to “target” specific tiles, it comes down to using roll multipliers effectively. Remember, rolling a 7 is the most common outcome, so if you’re seven tiles away from an Electric Company, Water Works, Luxury Tax, or Income Tax tile, consider boosting your multiplier.
The New Year’s Eve Bash will also run alongside the New Year’s Treasures event, meaning you’ll need plenty of pickaxes. The rewards from milestones are packed with these valuable tools, offering you a great starting point. Altogether, you can collect nearly 200 pickaxes to help Sophia out—pretty cool, right?
In addition to the abundance of pickaxes, the milestone rewards feature more sticker packs than usual as we prepare for the next sticker album. As you complete the 50 milestones during the New Year’s Eve Bash, you’ll be rewarded with cash, free dice rolls, and bonus board triggers.
