The Call of Duty franchise may not have always included crossover events, but it has definitely made up for it in recent years. Season 2 of Black Ops 6 has just introduced the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, allowing players to use COD Points to purchase skins and weapons inspired by these legendary characters.
Fortunately, you won’t need to spend any money to join in on the fun. Along with the option to buy cosmetics, Treyarch has launched a new game mode called TMNT Moshpit. When you dive into this playlist, you’ll jump into classic Call of Duty multiplayer matches—but with an exciting twist.
TMNT Moshpit Modes Explained
The TMNT Moshpit features traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint. However, you’ll also receive an additional TMNT scorestreak. By scoring kills and completing objectives, you’ll unlock the chance to activate this special ability, which gives you access to one of the Turtles’ iconic gear and various enhancements.
TMNT Scorestreaks
Your loadout will be temporarily adjusted as well, replacing your lethal weapon with shurikens and swapping in a smoke grenade for your tactical option. In addition to these bonuses, each scorestreak comes with a unique ability based on which Turtle you choose. Here’s a quick overview:
Character Name |
Ability |
---|---|
Leonardo |
Grants the Ghost, Cold-Blooded, Vigilance, and Tracker perks for ultimate stealth. |
Michelangelo |
Deploys a pizza box that acts as an ammo supply, reloading teammates’ weapons and doubling their damage. |
Donatello |
Allows you to see enemies, equipment, field upgrades, and scorestreaks through walls. |
Raphael |
Provides unlimited shurikens (while the other Turtles only get a few). |
Splinter |
Teleports you to a safe spot behind enemy lines. |
If you want to keep the TMNT scorestreak, you need to be mindful: you’ll lose it if time runs out or if you get killed.
If you prefer a specific Turtle’s skills, purchasing and equipping their corresponding skin will ensure you always access their scorestreak.
Cowabunga Cranked Explained
Fans of Zombies will also benefit from a TMNT-themed mode called Cowabunga Cranked. In this mode, killing a zombie initiates the Cranked timer, and you must take down another zombie before time expires to reset the clock. If you don’t, you’ll explode and the game ends!
The Turtles influence shows mainly through the visuals, as the zombies all sport Foot Clan ninja outfits. You can also collect various themed power-ups after defeating enemies, which have their own effects:
Item Name |
Effect |
---|---|
Slice-O-Pie |
Increases time on the Cranked timer. |
Pizza Box |
Maxes out the Cranked timer completely. |
Turtle Power |
Provides a temporary health boost and Pack-A-Punch 3 melee weapons. |
Each player will also receive Donny’s Time Stopper field upgrade, which effectively pauses the Cranked timer for a full minute when activated.
Paid skins prove useful in this mode as well; equipping a Turtle’s skin grants you 50 percent reduced damage from attacks from behind, while Splinter increases the chance of dead zombies dropping Slice-O-Pie.
