Ultimate Guide to the Genetic Apex Emblem Event

Since the official launch of Pokémon TCG Pocket a few weeks ago, players have been treated to a variety of events, with the most recent being the Genetic Apex Emblem Event. This event, which focuses on player-versus-player (PvP) combat, is set to begin on November 7, 2024, at 1 a.m. and will continue until November 28, 12:59 a.m. local time.

In addition to collecting cards, battles in Pokémon TCG Pocket are a core aspect of gameplay. Many players have already started crafting powerful decks specifically for the online battles. The Genetic Apex Emblem Event offers exclusive rewards for players who take part in PvP matches during this period.

How to Participate in the Genetic Apex Emblem Event

Compete Against Other Players in Online Matches

To get started with the event, open the Pokémon TCG Pocket app during the event period and navigate to the battle tab located at the bottom of the screen. You should receive a notification regarding the Lapras EX drop event in the Solo Battle area. Additionally, you’ll find an event selection under the Versus option. When you enter this section, you won’t just see the usual Private Match and Random Match options; instead, you’ll also find an option labeled Event Match.

Starting out in Pokémon TCG Pocket can be challenging, but these decks will help even new players compete with seasoned pros.

Once you select the Event Match option, choose your deck and start an online battle in Pokémon TCG Pocket, just like with the Random Match feature. To the left of your chosen deck, you’ll notice a box displaying your win count. It should initially show 0 wins, with an arrow indicating that your first event reward will unlock after achieving a single event match victory. Just tap the battle button and keep playing until you secure that first win.

While
your wins do not have to be consecutive for this event,
Pokémon TCG Pocket has indicated that future events might require consecutive wins, so be sure to verify the specific rules when participating in any battle events.

After claiming your first victory, you will unlock your initial rewards. Your aim is to continue playing until you secure 45 event match wins. Once you hit the 45-win mark, you will receive your final reward, and there will be no further prizes to earn from this event, although you are free to continue battling online until the event ends.

Emblems, Shinedust, & Hourglasses

The Genetic Apex Emblem Event features four tiers, and to collect all the available rewards, you must reach each tier. The entire reward process has been outlined in a YouTube video by TLSG Pokémon. By simply participating in your first match, you will earn a few Pack Hourglasses, but subsequent rewards will be based on match victories rather than participation.

For those who strive for the Gold Event Emblem, it can be proudly displayed on your profile, showcasing your accomplishments to other players.

Given Mew’s rarity across various Pokémon games, it’s no surprise that Mew is just as elusive and challenging to find in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

To display your emblem, go to your main dashboard and select your profile icon at the top of the screen. Scroll down slightly; you should see the Emblems section beneath your battle record. There are three slots available for Emblems, so if you already possess the Pikachu, Mewtwo, and Charizard emblems from the store, you’ll need to choose which one to replace. Tap the desired slot for your new emblem, and then select it from the options provided.

Your emblem should now be visible on your profile page, and other players will be able to see it too. While it may not be the rarest emblem, it serves as a testament to your skills in battling within Pokémon TCG Pocket. Regardless of whether you earn the Gold Emblem, don’t hesitate to show off any Genetic Apex Event Emblem you’ve earned. You’ve worked hard for it and should take pride in your accomplishments.
