This month marks the debut of Dynamax Passimian in Pokémon GO, featured prominently during Max Mondays. This weekly event takes place every Monday from 6 PM to 7 PM local time and highlights a different Pokémon each week. Dynamax Passimian will be the star attraction on April 7, 2025. During this hour, Dynamax Passimian is the sole Pokémon available in Power Spots.
For April’s Max Mondays, the focus will be on Wooloo, Sobble, and Falinks, but Passimian is the only new Dynamax Pokémon introduced this month. Although it has been included in regular raids before, this will be its first appearance in Max Battles. Successfully defeating it on Max Mondays gives you a chance to catch it in its Dynamax form. Keep in mind that it’s not the easiest Max Battle to win in Pokémon GO, so understanding its weaknesses, defenses, and the best counters to use is essential.

Weaknesses and Resistances of Dynamax Passimian in Pokémon GO
Critical Fairy, Flying, and Psychic Types
Passimian is a pure Fighting-type Pokémon with specific weaknesses and resistances. Although it isn’t the strongest choice for PvP battles, it does present a 3-Star difficulty, making it crucial to know its vulnerabilities. It is particularly weak against Fairy-, Flying-, and Psychic-type attacks, which inflict an additional 60% damage. To maximize your chances of winning, select Pokémon that possess these types of moves.
Additionally, be cautious not to include Pokémon that will be less effective against Passimian. Specifically, avoid using Bug-, Dark-, or Rock-type Pokémon, as these will take reduced damage from its attacks. After Max Mondays, Passimian will join the regular Raid Boss rotation for April and will be available in Power Spots from April 14 to April 21.
During any Max Battle, you can choose up to three Pokémon. They can be completely different or three of the same type if you have caught multiple versions.
You can participate in Max Battles either solo or with up to three other trainers who are nearby. Given the challenging nature of the battle, teaming up with friends can significantly enhance your chances of success.

Legendary Flying Types: Top Choices
A major challenge in defeating any Dynamax Pokémon is that you’re limited in your selection. You can only utilize other Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. This includes Scorbunny, which recently appeared in Max Mondays. This restriction means you can only select Pokémon from evolution lines that have been featured in Dynamax Max Battles or those obtained through Special Research.

Unfortunately, no pure Fairy-, Flying-, or Psychic-type Dynamax Pokémon have been released yet. Nevertheless, there are still strong contenders. Two Legendary Pokémon from Generation 1, Moltres and Zapdos, are both dual Flying-types capable of unleashing Flying-type attacks. Moltres has the advantage, displaying both Fast and Charged attacks that benefit from Flying-type characteristics.
The Pokémon you choose will use distinct moves, termed Max Moves, compared to regular battles. These will be shaped by the types of moves that Pokémon has before entering a Max Battle.
Though not as powerful as the Legendary options, Unfezant is a Normal- and Flying-type Pokémon that can learn various Flying moves, making it especially effective against Dynamax Passimian.
Your lineup can also include counters like Gengar equipped with a Psychic-type move, Charizard utilizing Flying-type attacks, or Metagross featuring Psychic-type moves. As Dynamax Passimian is a newly introduced Pokémon in Pokémon GO, defeating it is achievable if you prepare with the right counters for Max Mondays.
All of this excitement and strategy will certainly make for a thrilling time in Pokémon GO as trainers come together to challenge Dynamax Passimian!
