In Teamfight Tactics, not all items are created equal. While the champion you place items on matters, some items consistently outperform others because of their overall usefulness to your team. When you factor in Radiant items—upgraded versions of standard items—your units can become formidable in battle.
Just as with standard items, Radiant items vary in effectiveness. Some enhance their standard counterpart significantly, while others can dramatically influence your chances of reaching the top four. Although items may differ from one set to another, here are some of the most effective Radiant items in Set 12.
Teamfight Tactics – Radiant Item Tier List
Radiant items are rare in TFT, typically acquired through augments. However, their vast array can make it challenging to determine which Radiant items suit which units best.
A good rule of thumb is to use the Radiant version of the standard item. For example, if you would normally opt for a Bloodthirster, the Radiant version, known as the Blessed Bloodthirster, would be the fitting choice.
Generally, the stronger baseline items align well with the capabilities of their Radiant equivalents. However, this isn’t a hard and fast rule, so let’s explore the five tiers of Radiant items in TFT Set 12 and what each tier indicates about the items.
Tier |
Explanation |
---|---|
S |
These are the top Radiant items in TFT Set 12, noted for their versatility and enhancements that stem from their upgrades. |
A |
Radiant items in this category are excellent alternatives if S-tier items are unavailable, still offering substantial benefits and sometimes outperforming S-tier items in specific situations. |
B |
These Radiant items are decent but may fall short and often serve as upgraded versions of less popular standard items. |
C |
This tier includes Radiant items that are underwhelming. While they can be somewhat beneficial, they’re typically not the best choice compared to higher-tier items. |
D |
Steer clear of these items whenever possible. If you find yourself with no other options, consider seeking a Reforger to transform them into something more useful. |
S Tier Radiant Items
Tier |
Item |
Reason |
---|---|---|
S |
Blessed Bloodthirster |
This is the top self-healing item in the game, providing a substantial shield and damage for both physical and magic dealers. |
Rascal’s Gloves |
Though it occupies three item slots, this one Radiant item grants two additional items along with enhanced health and a better crit chance. |
|
Fist of Fairness |
The second-best healing item in the game, which is excellent for critical hit setups and magic dealers. |
|
Statikk’s Favor |
This item’s shred effect is devastating against Magic Resist builds, providing ample mana and attack speed. |
|
Runaan’s Tempest |
A great way to effectively double the output of physical damage dealers while increasing their attack speed. |
|
Sunlight Cape |
The best tank item in the game, it damages enemies while keeping your key tank alive longer. |
|
Blue Blessing |
The top magic item, allowing casters to cast spells at twice the rate with increased damage. |
|
Hextech Lifeblade |
This effective healing item works best with magic dealers, healing hurt teammates at the same time. |
Keep an eye out for these items; grab them whenever you can because they’ll be useful to one of your units regardless of the situation. These items will synergize well with your team, making them easy to deploy.
Just make sure to assign items to their appropriate units. The Rascal’s Gloves is versatile enough to be used on any champion and will deliver significant value to your team.
A Tier Radiant Items
Tier |
Item |
Reason |
---|---|---|
A |
Covalent Spark |
This item shreds Magic Resist with a static AoE effect and offers continuous self-healing for the user. |
More More-ellonomicon |
This item’s long-term Burn and Wound effects synergize well with AoE spells. |
|
Spear of Hirana |
This item speeds up cast times for units, allowing quick abilities use for fast casters. |
|
Dvarapala Stoneplate |
Increasing Armor and Magic Resist based on enemy hits is already a solid feature, and this Radiant item adds self-healing. |
|
Brink of Dawn |
The Radiant variant of Edge of Night gives full healing at 60% health, along with an additional 85% attack speed afterward. |
|
The Baron’s Gift |
This is one of the most flexible items, offering decent health, magic damage, and attack speed while enhancing overall cast time. |
|
Glamorous Gauntlet |
For magic crit builds, this item allows you to achieve a balanced crit chance, freeing up space for two other magic items. |
|
Guinsoo’s Reckoning |
This Radiant version of Rageblade is quite specific and can lead to dominating performances if paired with suitable attack speed units. |
These items are incredibly powerful, and if you’re unable to secure the S Tier items, these remain fully usable and can excel in the right conditions.
Properly placing these items on their best units is essential; they require a set of three items that work harmoniously, while S Tier items are generally effective, regardless of the team composition.
Arguably, the least effective item on this list is Guinsoo’s Reckoning, primarily due to its boom/bust potential. It can be game-changing on the right unit but can become ineffective on the wrong one, so deploy it wisely.
B Tier Radiant Items
Tier |
Item |
Reason |
---|---|---|
B |
Warmog’s Pride |
Offers substantial health but can quickly diminish due to a lack of Armor and Magic Resist. |
Equinox |
Useful in situations lacking tank items, but other tank items typically outperform it. |
|
Bulwark’s Oath |
Unless equipped on Mordekaiser, the shield is insufficient without more health and Magic Resist. |
|
Rabadon’s Ascended Deathcap |
Highly situational, its power only shows if your magic dealer has two strong items. |
|
Eternal Whisper |
The Sunder effect through the match is nice, but other damage items perform better. |
|
Dragon’s Will |
Surprisingly, its improvements on a strong base item make it less effective compared to others. |
|
Absolution |
While its healing aura helps a frontline, it lacks additional benefits. |
|
Willbreaker |
This item offers a 50% damage increase upon hitting a shield, but is highly situational based on enemy unit types. |
Many of the items in this tier can be situational, even more so compared to A Tier items, but they are still usable. These items may fall short compared to higher tiers, but with the right units and positioning, they can still secure victories.
C Tier Radiant Items
Tier |
Item |
Reason |
---|---|---|
C |
Titan’s Vow |
The improvements for this item are underwhelming, providing minimal benefit besides small enhancements. |
Royal Crownshield |
A 50% shield and 50 Ability Power are decent but only beneficial for strong magic tanks. |
|
Jak’Sho the Protean |
This item isn’t bad, but it falls short compared to other magic caster items. |
|
Demonslayer |
The damage increase is the main enhancement, leaving it underwhelming at Radiant level. |
|
Rosethorn Vest |
Given the prevalence of magic units in Set 12, the Rosethorn Vest remains unimpressive, similar to its base variant. |
|
Crest of Cinders |
The Burn and Wound ability is powerful, but its lack of multi-targeting significantly weakens its value. |
|
Zenith Edge |
Standard physical critical hit builds are less relevant in Set 12, making this item less useful for magic crit builds. |
Many of these items are weak simply because their base versions are not much better. Others offer negligible upgrades. While they can still be effective, you’ll find opportunities for them much less frequently compared to B Tier items.
D Tier Radiant Items
Tier |
Item |
Reason |
---|---|---|
D |
Legacy of the Colossus |
This item, like its base, serves a purpose for a non-existent unit: crit tank. |
Sterak’s Megashield |
The boost in health and damage is minimal, while other damage-tank items up the scale much better in combat. |
|
Quickestsilver |
An example of an item that simply falls flat against better alternatives across all benefits: attack speed, Magic Resist, etc. |
|
Urf-Angel’s Staff |
Though it has high magic scaling, units rarely survive long enough to truly utilize its benefits. |
|
Luminous Deathblade |
Offering solely a physical damage boost, this item provides no real added value for a physical damage dealer, unlike other items above. |
Whenever you encounter these items, they should be avoided completely. Items from the higher tiers significantly outperform these options. Their shortcomings stem from a combination of weak base items and insufficient Radiant enhancements. The Luminous Deathblade is a prime example of this; it’s a lackluster base item with no compelling upgrades.
Experimenting with these items in non-ranked matches might be entertaining, but if you find them in ranked play, consider using a Reforger to transform them into something more beneficial.
