Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 offers three sniper rifles at launch, with the LR 7.62 being the last one you unlock. This powerful weapon can take down enemy operators with a single shot to the torso or higher. While it’s user-friendly, you’ll need to enhance its basic stats using the Gunsmith feature.
Once you’ve made those improvements, you’ll gain access to one of the most formidable weapons for both multiplayer and Zombie modes. In this guide, we’ll explore two configurations for the LR 7.62: a quickscope setup ideal for multiplayer and another optimized for Zombie gameplay.

To truly excel with your sniper rifle in Black Ops 6, you should load it up with multiple attachments. For the LR 7.62, the Gunfighter Wildcard is essential as it provides the additional slots needed to tackle the weapon’s drawbacks, including reticle sway, slow aiming speed, significant flinch, and sluggish firing rate. Thankfully, the Wildcard allows for these essential upgrades.
The key attachment in this configuration is the Target Laser. It extends the time before your aim begins to sway, allowing you to perform quick or hard scopes more effectively. Without this laser, quickscoping can be quite frustrating.
With that issue out of the way, you can address other aspects of the rifle. The Quickdraw Grip provides a substantial boost to your aim speed, reducing it to just over half a second. The addition of a Heavy Stock helps mitigate the flinch penalty from the Quickdraw Grip. To remedy the slow rechambering time, incorporate Rapid Fire to accelerate the bolt animation.
With most of the weapon’s issues sorted out, you can focus on enhancing its overall performance. Add any optic that fits your preferred range; we recommend the Blandwell 7x Scope, but a 3x scope could work well for close engagements. The Ranger Handguard improves your sprint speed, while the Extended Mag I allows for additional kills before needing to reload. Conclude your build with a Muzzle Brake to significantly manage recoil.

Column One | Flak Jacket |
Column Two | Fast Hands |
Column Three | Guardian |

Field Upgrade | Trophy System |
A sniper rifle might struggle in close-quarters combat, so we suggest using Fast Hands in your second perk column to quickly switch to your secondary weapon. As we can’t apply Perk Greed to this build, let’s fully embrace the Strategist perks. Flak Jacket provides significant protection against enemy explosives, while Guardian offers a quick health recovery boost during objective captures or holds, particularly advantageous in modes like Hardpoint and Domination.
Your equipment choices should complement your supporting strategy. Trophy Systems are great for defending objectives against enemy equipment, allowing you to accumulate score for Scorestreaks. Additionally, we recommend Stims for swift healing and your preferred Area of Effect explosive.

When you upgrade the LR 7.62 through Pack-A-Punch for Zombies, you’ll primarily use it like a bolt-action rocket launcher, so selecting the ideal attachments isn’t as critical. We’re adapting the multiplayer setup since it improves many of the weapon’s reliability issues but make a few adjustments to enhance its aiming speed and handling.
The biggest alteration is replacing the stock with a Short Barrel, which effectively removes aiming and firing penalties when jumping. As the weapon’s projectiles explode in a sizeable area, firing in the general direction of the zombies mid-air proves highly effective. We also recommend using a red dot optic for improved handling. Lastly, switch the Muzzle Brake for a Suppressor to increase the chances of receiving Salvage drops from defeated zombies.
