Tales of Zestiria: Complete Trials Guide

In Tales of Zestiria, players must undertake four trials to harness the elemental powers of Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. Each trial is paired with boss challenges and specific evaluations to determine if you possess the necessary worthiness to wield such formidable powers.

This guide aims to give you a comprehensive overview and step-by-step instructions for successfully completing all four trials in Tales of Zestiria.

Morgause, Shrine of the Earth Trial

Following your dialogue at the entrance, you must subdue Minotauros and meet Pawan at the altar within the shrine. Be prepared for multiple encounters with Minotauros before you are able to pacify it.

After handling Minotauros, descend the northwest staircase and break the columns on the floor. This action will unlock the treasure area located to the east.

Alternatively, if you choose to demolish only the northernmost columns, you can proceed forward. When you arrive at the barricaded alleyway leading to the final northern corridor, head down the northeast steps.

After that, replicate the process at the other staircase to dismantle the last barrier. With everything cleared, move into the corridor to activate the save point and receive the Earth elemental power from Pawan.

Lefay, Shrine of the Water Trial

After speaking with the guardian at the entrance, move forward but remember to utilize the Spectral Cloak map action. Pay close attention to the maps; failing to do so may throw you back to the shrine’s starting point.

As you explore, ensure you open all the chests you find; doing so will provide you with additional insights about Asura and the overarching journey.

Upon reaching the raised platform, step onto it to access the upper floor and activate the save point before engaging in a battle with Asura.

During the fight against Asura, avoid using Fire and Wind elemental attacks, focusing solely on Earth damage for a smoother battle experience.

Once Asura is defeated, return to Altul and complete the second test by rejecting the sword. Following your conversation, you will gain access to the spiritual power of Water.

Guinevere, Shrine of the Wind Trial

Upon entering the shrine, you will face Zaveid in battle. Make sure to avoid using Earth elemental damage and navigate around his Seraphic Artes.

After you defeat him, you will have three choices to make:

  • Attempt to persuade him of the truth
  • Demonstrate the Shepherd’s power
  • Leave him be

After making your choice, head towards the eastern edge of the ninth floor to locate a save point.

From there, you will face Dullahan after a brief cutscene, leading you to claim the spiritual power of Wind.

Igraine, Shrine of the Fire Trial

Upon entering the shrine, turn right and use the Silver Flame on a few torches to progress. Avoid continuing up the stairs; instead, utilize the torches to illuminate your path.

To access the central area, descend the stairs, light the torches, and then go through the eastern entrance. Ascend the stairs to ignite the pedestals leading back to the entrance.

When you arrive at Musiphe’s shrine, you will engage in combat with a hellion. Utilize Water elements in this battle to achieve victory, but refrain from using Earth or Wind attacks.

After a brief cutscene, you will unlock the ability to perform your aromatized mystic art, Flamberge, and subsequently gain the spiritual power of Fire.
