The release date for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is quickly approaching, and pre-loading options are now available for both consoles and PC. It’s hard to believe that this much-anticipated update is finally arriving, but its launch isn’t straightforward. Depending on your platform, the preload and release times vary. Here’s what you need to know about when you can start installing and playing Black Flag Resynced.
PC Release Times
Black Flag Resynced will be available worldwide on PC at 2 PM UTC on July 9. You can begin playing via Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, or cloud services like GeForce Now and Blacknut at times that depend on your region:
- Pacific Time (US): 7 AM on July 9
- Eastern Time (US): 10 AM on July 9
- UK: 3 PM on July 9
- Central Europe: 4 PM on July 9
- Australia (Eastern): Midnight on July 10
- New Zealand: 2 AM on July 10
Pre-loading can start two days earlier, at 2 PM UTC on July 7. To get a head start, make sure to download it early. Steam’s requirements state you’ll need about 65 GB of free space.
Console Release Times
For PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, the game will go live at midnight local time on July 9. Preloading options are available on some platforms:
- PS5: Preload begins at midnight on July 7 (48 hours before launch)
- Xbox Series X: Preload is available now
Using a common trick, players in New Zealand can set their Xbox’s region to New Zealand within the settings menu. If the game has been pre-installed, you’ll be able to start playing as early as midnight on July 9 in New Zealand — that’s 12 PM UTC on July 8. Keep in mind, this trick works more easily on Xbox than on PS5, where you’d need to purchase the game through a New Zealand-based account to access the store there.
