Disney Lorcana is a relatively new trading card game (TCG), yet it keeps growing with new sets being released regularly. Each expansion builds on the previous one, bringing in fresh characters, gameplay mechanics, and captivating stories that enhance the lore of Lorcana. The introduction of new keywords and mechanics enriches the strategic gameplay while keeping it accessible.
Though the steady release of sets adds excitement, it can be tricky to keep track of everything. This guide gathers all the announced Lorcana sets, gift boxes, and other products, along with a preview of what to expect in upcoming releases.
Latest Release: Archazia’s Island – March 7, 2025
The seventh set, Archazia’s Island, features the Illumineers venturing into an enigmatic island after crossing the Azurite Sea. Here, they meet an ancient Illumineer and hone their skills amidst a diverse array of animals.
This set introduces new gameplay mechanics, including Dual-Ink cards, which require your deck to contain both Ink types specified on the card. Another new keyword is Vanish, which allows powerful cards to be used but banishes them if targeted by an action.
The starter decks for this set are Ruby/Sapphire and Amethyst/Steel. Fans can also look forward to an Illumineer’s Trove box and a Lilo-themed Gift Set, featuring the Lilo – Escape Artist promo card, making it a delightful follow-up to the Stitch-themed Gift Set from Azurite Sea.
Reign of Jafar – May 30, 2025
The eighth set, Reign of Jafar, focuses on Jafar’s takeover of Archazia’s Island. As with previous sets, players face a significant threat with Jafar wielding the Hexwell Crown, ready to use his magical skills as an illusionist. Cards related to Jafar suggest that by uniting the two fragments of the Hexwell Crown, he can summon an army under his spell.
This set is expected to include more Dual-Ink cards first seen in Archazia’s Island, along with additional Illusion cards featuring the Vanish keyword due to Jafar’s sorcerer status.
Starter decks will be Amethyst/Amber and Ruby/Steel. Like Ursula’s Return, this set will also have an Illumineer Quest pack, which, although smaller than the Deep Trouble Illumineer Quest box, will provide engaging cooperative or solo challenges.
No Gift Set has been announced for this release yet, but the inclusion of a Hades-themed playmat and a focus on Hades cards makes it likely that he could emerge as the next major antagonist.
Fabled – Q3 2025
The ninth set, Fabled, is likely themed around celebration, akin to what we saw with Shimmering Skies following Ursula’s defeat, but this time reflecting Jafar’s fall.
Specifics of this set remain under wraps, but it is expected to delve deeper into the past, including the origins of the Great Illuminary and the Curator.
Promotional material for Fabled showcases Mickey and Minnie in vintage designs on a carousel. Previous cards featuring vintage artwork, such as Mickey from Brave Little Tailor and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, hint that this set may explore Disney’s classic history. Expect potential appearances from characters in Disney’s Fables series and early short films, considering the age of titles like Brave Little Tailor from 1938.
Currently, no additional details regarding boxes or products for Fabled have been made public.
