Shiro and the Enchanted Coal Village

In Shin-Chan: Shiro And The Coal Town, you begin in a charming village that eventually leads you to the enigmatic Coal Town. This mining community is populated with entertaining characters, but its technology is a fascinating blend of vintage and modern innovations.

Most of the inventions in Coal Town come from a brilliant inventor named Yuri. Her quirky yet amazing creations make everyday life better for the townspeople. When you first encounter her, she’s busy working on a new invention but finds herself lacking some crucial materials—this is where you come in to lend a hand.

To kick off the first main mission, you need to have advanced the story enough to access Coal Town and completed your first Cooking Challenge for the Back Alley Man, where you had Yosoi prepare Grilled Masu Salmon.

As you follow Sumi into the laboratory, Yuri will present you with your first Invention Challenge and a list of materials she needs to make her invention:

  • Five Violet Coalite Fragments.
  • One Vacuum Tube.
  • Three Iron Ore.

At this stage in the game, your best bet to collect these materials is by exploring Coal Town itself.

Tip: You can refresh where materials spawn by moving to a different area and then returning to the previous location.

When you enter a new screen, you may find various materials appearing as sparkling spots in different areas, much like the wild vegetables and bugs in Unbent Village. This is where you can gather Violet Coalite Fragments and Iron Ore.

Finding the Materials

For Vacuum Tubes, this part of the mission also introduces Shiro’s Discoveries, which can help sniff out these items at several locations, including:

  • In Front of the Main Staircase
  • Coal Town West Street
  • In Front of Coal Town Station

You should be able to find both Violet Coalite Fragments and Iron Ore in the same spots where Vacuum Tubes may appear, as well as at the Vacant Lot, Back Alley, and Rooftop Road.

Note: Typically, you will find between one and three of either material at these locations. You may need to visit multiple spots to gather enough.

After collecting everything you need, head back to Yuri in the laboratory. Once you chat with her, you’ll put the materials into her machine, resulting in the creation of an item called the Street TV That’s Also A Street Lamp.

Finally, take this invention to In Front Of The Main Elevator to complete your first invention challenge. While you won’t receive any tangible reward for this, you will progress in the main story.
