The Takagi Kofun is one of several Kofuns featured in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Located in the Harima region, this particular Kofun is situated in a dangerous area northwest of Amagasaki. Like the other Kofuns, it requires a specific character to access and complete its challenges. For this Kofun, you’ll take on the role of Yasuke, who must use explosives to blow up the barricade blocking the entrance. Navigating this Kofun won’t be easy, as it is surrounded by hostile enemies.
Kofuns in AC Shadows are just one of the many interactive locations, each containing unique puzzles or challenges that reward players with Knowledge Points and legendary gear. Successfully completing this Kofun will grant you the legendary Death Blooms Teppo for Yasuke, making the effort to conquer it worthwhile. I recommend being at least level 23 before attempting to explore Harima, as lower levels may face difficulties. Regardless, be prepared for combat, as foes will be present inside.
Takagi Kofun Location In AC Shadows & How To Enter
The Takagi Kofun Is Found In Harima At The Takagi Otsuka Fort
The Takagi Kofun is in the Harima region, nestled between the Kanki Burned Fields, Miki, and the Kakogawa Estuary. The closest fast travel point is the Mount Haba viewpoint, located directly west of the Kofun, inside the Takagi Otsuka Fort. You’ll need to enter this Kofun as Yasuke, since the entrance is barricaded. Be aware that this Kofun is located in a fierce area, where either Yasuke or Naoe must defeat the enemies before they can get in. Expect at least two heavily armed foes patrolling the vicinity, so come prepared for a challenging encounter.
Keep an eye on your approach to the Takagi Kofun, and ensure your level is sufficient to handle the enemies within the Takagi Otsuka Fort.
After taking down the enemies outside, you can grab one of the jars located at the top of the stairs to blow up the barricade and gain access to the Takagi Kofun. Inside, you’ll navigate a long corridor down a steep staircase. At the base of the stairs, there’s a spacious chamber filled with enemies at the far end. Yasuke can silently eliminate them with a stealthy arrow attack if he’s adequately powered up. Otherwise, you’ll need to clear the chamber before proceeding deeper into the Kofun.

A Fork in The Kofun; An Unexpected Reward
Once the foes are eliminated, you’ll notice a steep ramp ahead, but you won’t be able to rush to the top. Instead, break the bamboo on your left and follow the path until you reach a dead end with a box containing crafting and building materials. Turn back and look for an opening Yasuke can jump to. Hop over the stones and crawl until you see the path split to the left.
Lighting candles as you go can help you track where you’ve been inside a Kofun.
You’ll find some loot at the end of the left path (an Uncommon Naginata). If you move straight ahead, you’ll encounter a single enemy. After dealing with this foe, the path will diverge. The left side leads to a bloodied ramp that you cannot ascend, while the right side has four enemies that you’ll need to defeat to move forward. After clearing them out, head to the end of the hallway to restock your ammo, then take an oil jar back towards the fork to clear the barricade.
Move the Crates & Blow the Barricades
Once you blow up the barricade, continue down the path until you ascend a set of stairs leading to some scaffolding straight ahead. Before entering the scaffolding room, turn left to pick up the common engraving and then proceed. In the scaffolding area, you’ll need to move crates from the end of the hallway back into the chamber. Position these crates as shown in the image above, then use an oil jar to toss onto the barricaded platform. Be cautious when detonating the jar, as you could harm yourself.
Head straight and crawl forward, preparing for another fight. Approximately five enemies await you in the next chamber, but once you take them down, you can use one of the oil jars from the platform to blow open the last barricade, unlocking the legendary chest that contains the Death’s Bloom Teppo.
While you may eventually replace rare amulets you collect, keep track of each one, as they can be incredibly beneficial early in the game.
There’s also a hidden barricade in the hallway leading to the final chamber. If you backtrack with a jar, you’ll find it about halfway down the corridor. This path leads to a chest containing the Rare Unstoppable Giant Amulet, which provides +45% Adrenaline Gain with consecutive enemy kills.
Death’s Bloom Build Guide
The Death’s Bloom Teppo: Quick Reload Speed
Having acquired the Death’s Bloom Teppo, it’s likely one of the first legendary Teppo weapons you’ll include in your gear. Its rapid reload speed is a standout feature, especially when combined with the Reload Speed Global Passives found in the Teppo skill tree. Reload speed can often present a challenge for using Teppo weapons, but Death’s Bloom mitigates this issue quite effectively. Even if you don’t yet have access to the strongest buffs for this weapon, there are numerous engravings in AC Shadows and other items that can significantly enhance the Death’s Bloom’s performance.
In summary, as you navigate the Takagi Kofun, proceed with caution and ensure your level is adequate for the foes you’ll encounter at the Takagi Otsuka Fort. Be mindful of the locations within the Kofun that house enemies, as you may find yourself facing multiple foes in tight spaces. The Takagi Kofun is just one of many scattered throughout Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but the Death’s Bloom Teppo makes the effort truly worthwhile.
