Museums always need a steady flow of income to survive, and ideally, much of that funding will come from your supporters as you grow your collections in Two Point Museum. However, if you’re finding it hard to stay in the green each month, exploring sponsorship options might be a good idea.
Your museums can enter into various sponsorship agreements, which might involve showcasing exhibits or selling branded merchandise in your gift shop, all in exchange for funds from a sponsoring company. There’s even a unique sponsorship option available to help save your museum from financial trouble.
In Two Point Museum, there are several ways to generate income through regular gameplay: admission fees from visitors, who may also shop in your gift store after enjoying the exhibits and purchasing food or drinks during their visit. Yet if you find yourself in need of an extra financial push, consider securing sponsorship deals to increase your revenue.
To explore sponsorships, check the Finances tab in the management menu (look for the briefcase icon that provides an overview of your staff, patrons, and more). Within this menu, click on the tab with a handshake icon to access the Sponsorship section, where you can review any pending or active sponsorships for your museum.
While you’re free to accept any sponsorship offer that comes your way, you also have the option to reject any agreements you don’t want. This action helps to keep your menu organized, but you’ll need to wait a few in-game months for new offers to come around after rejecting one.
Sponsorships can take many forms—they might request that you sell branded toys from a company like Cheesy Gubins in your gift shop, support the testing of new technology, and more. These sponsorships are never mandatory, but they can provide a helpful financial boost for your museum. Just remember, not all guests may appreciate certain sponsorship concepts.
Some sponsorship deals can negatively impact guest satisfaction while featured in your museum, like the Holistix Diffuser that claims, “if it’s burning your nostrils, it’s already too late!” If you accept such offers, be prepared to mitigate any negative effects these sponsorships may have on visitor experience, as their financial benefits could come at a cost in terms of public opinion.
If you are grappling with financial issues and face the possibility of bankruptcy, you will unlock access to a third sponsorship deal specifically available for museums at financial risk.
