Naoe is a more traditional character in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, yet she offers a range of romantic relationships, including one with Katsuhime. Among the three romance options available to Naoe, Katsuhime is the only female character. As a capable fighter, she can also join your team, sharing much in common with Naoe and interacting with her throughout various quests. Your initial encounter with Katsuhime occurs during the quest titled “Showdown in Sakamoto.”
You will guide Katsuhime through Sakamoto Castle, and near the end of the mission, you will have a chance to talk with her. To initiate a romance, choose the dialogue option, “I like your teppo” when it appears.

Next, you must embark on Katsuhime’s questline in The Shimmering Fields, located in Omi. Although this part contains minimal romantic dialogue, it paves the way for her recruitment. During the recruitment conversation, choose, “It offers time with me.” Meanwhile, the other playable character, Yasuke, also has the option to romance NPCs like Lady Oichi.

The First Signs of Connection
In another quest for Katsuhime, you’ll assist her in avenging an attack on her family. This mission marks a significant moment as their bond strengthens, allowing them to open up to each other. At the mission’s end, you should select, “I do enjoy your company.”

Saving Katsuhime’s Life
The most significant quest involving Katsuhime is “Diary of Lady Rokkaku.” During this mission, you need to rescue her from captivity and escort her out of the castle. After successfully saving her, you will have a final conversation where she officially becomes your companion. For her to join your team, select the option, “Yes. Join us.“ Doing so is essential for the chance to pursue a romance with her.
The Jounin Pillow Book Quest
A Final Connection
The concluding quest to fully develop your romance with Katsuhime is titled “The Jounin Pillow Book.” Completing this quest requires two key conversations. At the beginning of the dialogue, choose “Let’s find out.” Then, at the end of your discussion, select “Yes. Forever.” This results in a heartfelt embrace, although there are no further interactions between the two after this quest.
Out of all the characters Naoe can pursue, Katsuhime is the slowest to build a connection with, but still a straightforward option in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
