Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous offers several characters for players to romance, including Daeran, who can be pursued by both male and female commanders. Over the years, Daeran’s romance has experienced various bugs and glitches, but thankfully, most of these issues have been resolved through patches. Now, the most challenging aspect of wooing Daeran is making the right dialogue choices.
Daeran, as a noble, can appear quite arrogant, similar to the character Camellia in Pathfinder: WotR. His tendency to downplay significant matters may make it difficult for you to feel close to him. However, engaging in romance with him offers a compelling dynamic: you teach him to be more empathetic toward the world, while he encourages you to appreciate the little joys in life, even amidst chaos. It’s beautifully poetic.
Best Way to Romance Daeran
Building Trust with Daeran
Before you can begin a romance with any character in Pathfinder: WotR, you first need to recruit them into your party. After that, it’s essential to keep them in your party and interact regularly. The key to successfully romancing Daeran, as well as any other potential partner, is managing the trust and romance counter.
You can check your trust level with Daeran using the toybox by locating the “DaeranTrust_Counter” variable in the flags.
For the romance counter to unlock Daeran’s full romance path, you need his trust counter to exceed 25 and meet at least two out of five true love criteria.
How the Trust Counter Works
Best Way to Build Daeran’s Trust
Specific interactions will influence your trust counter, either adding or deducting 5–10 points at a time. It’s crucial to focus on this counter right away, especially during his party. To gain trust during the party, steer clear of negative choices like criticizing Daeran for slacking off, second-guessing his decision to hold the party, or asking him to write a report. Instead, engage in fun activities like dancing or painting with companions, asking him if he’s enjoying himself, or even joining a drinking contest. This approach can yield a total of 15 points.

After the party, continue your conversations with Daeran at camp to secure the necessary trust points for romance. Choose the dialogue option “If anything happens, I got your back“ when it appears. You’ll also need to meet two special criteria, one of which involves receiving a key from him after making a donation to the crusade during Act 3. This key opens a chest in his home, allowing you to show a note to Drezen.

For the second special criterion, it’s simple to fulfill after dreaming of Daeran. When you wake up, tell him about the dream, mentioning that he was in danger and that you were willing to help. This will give you the second true love flag and boost your trust points. At this stage, you should be well on your way to completing Daeran’s romance. Just remember to avoid choices that might decrease the trust counter or that could lead to a breakup in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
