Ready for the Wild Area Global Event? Here's Your Prep Guide!

A fresh and exciting event is approaching: Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global. It will run from Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM local time until Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 6:15 PM local time. This event serves as an exciting extension of the annual Pokémon GO Fest, offering trainers a wealth of content over the weekend. Expect bonuses, new Pokémon debuts, boosted spawn rates, and even novel gameplay mechanics in Pokémon GO. The Wild Area promises something for every player, making it a can’t-miss experience.

While this event overlaps with another happening in Fukuoka, Pokémon GO Wild Area is accessible to players everywhere. Note that the event is ticketed; purchasing a ticket will maximize your bonuses during the Wild Area. However, most of the activities will still be available for free. One of the event highlights is the introduction of the new GO Safari Balls in Pokémon GO. Expect plenty of exciting field research tasks, special challenges, and collection opportunities taking place throughout the weekend, so be prepared to make the most of what Wild Area has to offer.

A Unique Pokémon Makes Its Debut

For trainers, any significant event usually means the desire to capture new Pokémon quickly. The focus this time is on Dynamax Toxtricity, now available in Max Raids. Its base form, Toxel, was recently introduced during the Into The Wild event but required 400 candies for evolution. By participating in the upcoming Max Raid, players can easily acquire Toxtricity for their collections. This is a four-star Max Raid, meaning you’ll want to team up with other trainers to take it down efficiently.

To prepare for the event, it’s advisable to level up an appropriate Dynamax Pokémon in advance to boost your chances of success. Toxtricity is an Electric- and Poison-type, making it vulnerable to Ground and Psychic-type moves. As for the Pokémon at your disposal, Dynamax Excadrill is your best choice for a Ground-type attacker. Make sure to complete as many Drilbur Max Raids before the weekend to stock up on candies for powering up Excadrill.

During the event, Toxtricity can also be encountered as a reward during Special Research tasks.

The event will also launch the concept of Mighty Pokémon. While many individual Pokémon won’t be making full debuts, this feature allows select Pokémon to appear in their Mighty form for the first time. Mighty Pokémon are guaranteed to have superior Attack, Defense, and HP stats. They may also be XL or XXL in size, making them harder to catch compared to their standard forms. The table above outlines which Pokémon can show up in their Mighty forms throughout the two-day Wild Area event.
