In Pokémon GO, there are several methods to obtain Eggs, but it can be a challenge if you’re looking for a specific type, such as the 10KM Egg. Currently, there are five categories of Eggs available for hatching, and each category features a unique set of Pokémon that can emerge once you’ve walked the required distance while incubating them.
Trainers have the option to place multiple Eggs in Incubators simultaneously to reduce the hatching distances, but it’s impossible to predict which Pokémon will hatch from each Egg. For instance, Toxel made its debut during the All into the Wild event and is exclusively found in 10KM Eggs. Unfortunately, you won’t know in advance which Eggs contain this Baby Pokémon, so you’ll need to gather and hatch as many 10KM Eggs as possible to try to get one.
How to Obtain More 10KM Eggs
Spin Photo Discs
To increase your chances of getting more 10KM Eggs, make sure to spin Photo Discs at PokeStops and Gyms. Keep in mind that the types of Eggs you receive—whether 2KM, 5KM, or 10KM—are entirely random. There’s no strategy to boost your odds for 10KM Eggs specifically, so it really comes down to luck.
You can also earn 10KM Eggs as a random Adventure Sync reward after walking 50KM within a week. These rewards are distributed every Monday at 9 AM local time.
You can hold up to 12 Eggs at a time, which includes nine in your base storage and three in Bonus Storage. Since you can’t discard any unneeded 2, 5, or 12KM Eggs, you’ll need to hatch them before you can spin additional Photo Discs in hopes of acquiring a 10KM Egg.
The Most Efficient Way to Acquire 10KM Eggs
Purchase Additional Incubators
To expedite the Egg hatching process and increase your chances of obtaining more 10KM Eggs in Pokémon GO, consider using extra Incubators and Super Incubators. If you can earn enough PokéCoins to buy more, you can employ up to 12 Incubators at once to hatch all of your Eggs simultaneously, allowing you to quickly clear out any unwanted Baby Pokémon.
For every 10KM Egg you obtain, using Super Incubators will apply a 0.677x distance multiplier, allowing them to hatch much faster— about 7.7KM instead of the regular 10KM. If the Pokémon that hatches isn’t what you were hoping for, you can still use the remaining uses of the Super Incubator to hatch another 10KM Egg obtained from spinning Pokémon GO’s Photo Discs at PokeStops and Gyms.
