Sony faces a significant policy challenge concerning PlayStation accounts, fueling worries about a future dominated entirely by digital content. While many gamers are upset about Sony’s decision to cease physical disc production, citing reduced player choice, an even larger concern exists for those with PSN accounts registered in regions where they no longer live.

If the company enforces its policies in the future—especially when games are solely digital—what happens to our libraries? Given Sony’s past actions of removing access to purchased content without recourse, it’s understandable to feel pessimistic about the future.
