How to Acquire the Dragon’s Scarf in Octopath Traveler?

This scarf functions similarly to the Beastly Scarf, which restores health rather than SP. If you are willing to invest a considerable amount of gold, both scarves can be acquired from the same location. There are several ways to obtain a Dragon’s Scarf in Octopath Traveler. If you want to equip multiple characters with Dragon’s Scarfs, you’ll need to visit each specific location where they can be found.

Purchase from Tressa’s Store

Tressa Colzione, a character introduced in Chapter 1 of Octopath Traveler, becomes available once you complete her questline. After finishing her challenges, you can visit her mother’s shop in Rippletide to purchase both the Dragon’s Scarf and the Beastly Scarf at any time during the game, costing 16,500 gold for each scarf.

Finish Here Be Dragons

If you’re low on gold, there’s a way to acquire the Dragon’s Scarf at no cost. You simply need to complete Here Be Dragons, a side quest that begins in Northreach.

Make your way to the town and pass through the gate. You’ll want to interact with the individual indicated in the image below.

This individual is a wandering author who travels to gather stories and legends about noble dragons. The author will request you to seek information on three noble dragons located in the regions of Stillsnow, Cobbleston, and Orewell.

Journey to Stillsnow

Upon teleporting, head straight and approach the merchant to the left of the house.

Select the “Scrutinize” option to learn about the Dragon of the Frostlands. After that, proceed to your next location.

Journey to Cobbleston

Descend the stairs to your left toward the elderly gentleman near a house.

Select the “Scrutinize” option to discover information on the Dragon of the Highlands. Then teleport to the next location to find details on the last dragon.

Journey to Orewell

Your last stop will be Orewell. Cross the bridge and approach the person standing to the left of the bridge.

As with the previous two merchants, select the “Scrutinize” option to collect information on the Dragon of the Clifflands.

After gathering all the required information, you can head back to the author in Northreach.

Return to the Author

Quick travel back to the area and converse with the author. When prompted to share the information you discovered about all three dragons, select “Yes.” After relaying the information you gathered, you will complete the quest, earning a Dragon’s Scarf and 11,000 in gold.
