The ports of the beloved 2001 RPG Gothic for PS5 and PS4 are now available on the PlayStation Store, marking the game’s first appearance on these consoles. While THQ Nordic’s remake of Gothic is already accessible, the original version—Gothic Classic—has just made its debut on PS5 and PS4.
Gothic Classic can be purchased for $29.99 on both consoles. There is no introductory discount at launch.

The storyline takes place in the land of Myrtana, where war rages across the kingdom. Orc armies have invaded human territory, and the king desperately needs ore to craft weapons for his army. In these dire times, lawbreakers are sent to a massive penal colony in Khorinis to mine the crucial ore.
THQ Nordic has announced that Gothic II Complete Classic will be launching on PS5 and PS4 on September 29, 2026. Additionally, Gothic III is scheduled for release on November 24, completing the trilogy on gaming consoles.
Though the Gothic remake received mixed reviews from critics, the PS5 version has an average Metacritic score of 69 out of 100. Meanwhile, Gothic Classic has achieved a 4.91 out of 5-star rating from players on the PS Store.
