A new PS5 action game has just been released today, offering a Lovecraftian twist on a familiar genre.
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is now available to play
Developed by ACE Team and published by Nacon, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is a cooperative game for up to four players centered around treasure hunting. However, as players explore, they must also evade terrifying Lovecraftian monsters lurking within a treacherous jungle.
You can purchase the game now from the PS Store for $29.99. There’s also a Deluxe Edition available at $39.99, which includes additional content such as in-game cosmetic items and an extra mission.
According to the official description, the game draws inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft’s eerie atmospheres, featuring a complex madness mechanic that distorts your perception of the cursed jungle. The game’s unpredictable threats manipulate your senses, blurring the lines between reality and illusion and sowing paranoia among your team.
Players will start their adventure aboard a galleon, where they’ll sign a contract with the captain to receive gear in exchange for the treasures they recover. You’ll need to distribute weapons and equipment among your crew and decide which part of the jungle to explore next. The deeper you go, the higher the risks you’ll face.
